Corsair is popular for making a wide array of PC bits, computer cases, power supplies, PC memories, fans, liquid CPU coolers and liquid cooled graphics cards. But recently Corsair is bringing together all of its vast range of knowledge to produce a PC, called ‘Corsair One.’
Corsair One has pre-built systems that make it a PC engineered specifically for the gamers. And the size of it is no larger than a shoe box.
The front of the PC looks like Obsidian 550D and Corsair Carbide 330R cases, but the new ONE is a little bit less minimalist.
Corsair is not yet sharing all the details about the new PC, but judging by the images released by the press, Corsair’s One is small enough to fit just anywhere. Even with its compact size, it is potent enough to play Witcher 3 game on a widescreen display, along with the HDMI and USB ports in the front of the computer makes it evident that Corsair One will provide great virtual reality gaming experience. Some even think that Corsair One will pack GeForce GTX1080.
The PC is thought to be made of metal which would give it a look similar to Microsoft’s Xbox One or Sony PS4.
Since no details on the specifics of the device has been declared by the company yet, it is guessed from the HDMI port on the front, that Corsair One will have a VR-ready graphics card, and will use a smaller mini-ITX part because the case doesn’t look like it can hold a full-size ATX PC motherboard.
The weighty fins at the bottom and top of the device case and the perforations on the side panels suggest that it has been designed to allow plenty of air ventilation while the device is operating, and can accommodate powerful desktop components.
Some have noticed from the images available that an optical drive is missing. It is, however, not a huge surprise considering the fact that Corsair cases have included 5.25-inch drives as a part of a “Direct Airflow Path” design. The system may be using Intel or Nvidia or any other powerful kit available.
The company has not yet confirmed anything about the price of the device or the date when the product will be made available to the mass. The product targets consumers who are not particularly interested in undergoing all the hassle to assemble a system which is based on Bulldog or other Corsair products.
It is expected that a high-end VR enabled gaming PC will cost much more than rest of the products of Corsair.
Since Corsair has been producing only singular hardware pieces for all these years, there are chances that a lot can go wrong while making the company’s first wholly assembled rig. Finding a position in the market that has been dominated by large companies like Dell is also an important point to consider for Corsair. The Corsair ONE will require a large post-sale customer support, and it should also include support for the pre-installed software and supporting systems.
