A time when having a phone or PC was a rare thing and the time that phone and PC are the primitive requirements. A time when soldiers sometimes had to wait for 1 or 2 years to see their families and the time that soldiers can see their families through video calling at any moment. A time when we used to see the Moon, Mars from Earth and the time when we can reach there. This is the way the technology has brought changes in our life. Our life has gone through various drastic changes because of technology.
These two pictures clearly show how our life has advanced. The first picture is showing the front page of the magazine ‘PC Advisor’ of the year 1995 and another of the year 2016 and the differences are abundant. No one in the year 1995 had thought that we will reach at this position after 20 years where we have reached now. But with God’s grace and with the hard work of human being we have achieved these advancements in technology.
Changes that are observed in the life of a common man
20 years ago, our life was not many gadgets oriented. At present, our day starts with the gym which has a lot of well-developed equipment to work out, but 20 years ago, people used to do exercising without using these many kinds of stuff. The cooking equipment that time was comparatively nothing in comparison with today. Most of the work was pen and paper oriented, but now-a-days, keypad and phones or laptops have taken their place. Games played at that time were not provided as many facilities as available today. You can take an example of a cricket match. At that time, there were not these many cameras, not many equipments for preparing the field, facilities for the players. These are the various changes that technology has created or we can say technology has completely changed us.
Some of the Major Technologies that have brought these many changes
- Internet
The internet is the major reason for drastic changes in our life. Now-a-days, whenever any need arises like to know about someone or something or to get the news of some city, state or country or to be entertained. The first thought that pops out of our mind is to use the internet. The internet has occupied a lot of space of our lives. Our life is unimaginable without the internet now which was possible 20 years ago.
- Digital Media
Digital Media has also changed our lives a lot. Now, you can save some photo, some video forever without any quality loss. You can improve some photo, some wrong note of a sung song. All this has been made possible by the advancement in technology.
- Mobile phones
Imagine your life without your cell phone. Now think the no. of works that you do with your phone daily. Now imagine a life 20 years ago when there were no phones. Now, I think the changes that have occurred need no details.
- Computers
The computer is something from which you can do your any work like study, shop, news, entertainment, business or job works. Without this, life is not possible now. This is actually the change that technology has created.
Conclusion
Technology advancement has taken us from earth to sky. Do not have clear idea where we are going to be in next 20 years but we know where we are standing and where were we 20 years ago. Our life has changed completely, and everyone has accepted it. Just accept it and try to improve it for the betterment of the society.
