Design
Samsung J5 has an all plastic body which can feel a bit cheap compared to all-metal counterparts. However, the J5 looks surprisingly good and is easy to handle. The handset has a very similar design to the Galaxy S5 when looking from the front; it has the same pill shaped home button and the curved edges. The backside is simple which gives it a classy look. The backside is removable which makes it very convenient to change the battery and the SD card.
Performance
Samsung J5 isn’t very promising performance wise.The Samsung J5 has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1.5 GB RAM powering the Touch Wiz UI. The Moto G outperforms J5 in the performance regard. The Touch Wiz feels relatively smooth for everyday use but, make no mistake this phone cannot handle games and or similar high-end applications. The battery life is great; the phone lasts for a whole day with average usage and still has some juice left.
Display
Samsung J5 outperforms other phones in this regard, one of the cheapest phones to come with a SUPER AMOLED panel from Samsung. The J5 display is great and looks very sharp. The colors are vibrant as expected in a SUPER AMOLED panel. Even the brightness is good for an AMOLED screen on the Samsung J5.
Camera
The Samsung J5 has a 13 MP camera which works well depending on your light conditions. The camera is good in a well-lit environment when the light source isn’t in your frame. However, indoor shots are unfocused and look like soft pictures with little detail.
Final verdict
The J5 is a good phone in its price range for an average user. Its display and battery life are better than most phones in the price segment but, the camera quality is disappointing. If you want a good phone for everyday usage comprising mainly of calling and basic applications, this phone is a decent overall package for you.
