CLOUD COMPUTING – IAAS
The term IAAS stands for a company acronym Infrastructure as a Service. The service is provided to the consumers to store, process, and facilitate the fundamental computing resources. In this service, the keeper can rely upon for taking chances including operation systems and applications as well.
At the beginning, the term hardware as a service (HaaS) was first coined by the economist Nicholas Carr in Rough Type, Mar 2006. The term HaaS is still in use with IaaS being a later reinvention of the same term with no visible feature. IaaS provides unique IP address virtual servers. Moreover, blocks of storage on demand are provided. Any client can benefit a lot. For instance, they can manage and control their servers thanks to the API they benefit from.
IAAS can do a lot. For instance, it provides Application resources such as servers, network equipment, memory, CPU, disk space, data center facilities, that are provided as a monthly service. It also provides the facility of paying the fee monthly instead of giving it in heavy wages. Another excellent quality of IAAS is that it allows medium sort of companies as well to take part and be the guest of IAAS.
Now the point is that how can you create a login to any other provider or to the Amazon?Geographical regions within EC2 can be taken as data centers. These data centers have computer clusters inside them which are known as Availability Zones in AWS. Inside of an Availability Zone, Virtual machines can be created from customized or predefined AMIs i-e Amazon Machine Images. At an availability Zone, an AMI may be viewed as a duplicate to a machine that can be loaded and run inside the cloud. Every time an AMI is taken and started is known as instance of the AMI Therefore, it is not very difficult to get it installed or done in your own computer. You need to have some verifications but the budget is affordable as many medium companies are also looking forward to it.
When you will launch the websites to the public, you will need to have a permanent public IP address that can allocate to Instance. That is why Elastic IP or EIP is used. It is ‘elastic’ because although it is a fixed public IP on the Internet, it can be assigned to any of our Instances on the inside of AWS.
Our Website can be served to public and for this purpose permanent public IP address is required which we can assign to our Instance. For this purpose Elastic IP is used. On internet, it is fixed public IP and because of it being elastic, it is assigned on the inside of AWS to any instances. It is a positive point because of the fact that when an instance dies ad another is brought in its place; site interruption can be minimized by moving the EIP to the new instance.
Restarting one machine would definitely affect the other and that is not so very easy task to do. Although cloud computing is often assumed to be green computing there is as of yet no published study to substantiate this assumption.
Our site is now uploaded and available on our instance with back up on S3 and an ABS volume securing the data, well securely given our engineers access, and we have our site reachable to the public. So far, everything is going well and we are discovering an increase in traffic not only from within us but from other places of the world. Eventually, our site is now more popular in a region from the original geographical region in which we set up our system. For instance, if we get 50 % hits from Europe and we had setup our site in the US. However, its performance may not be as good as we like for our European visitors. Providentially, use the Content Delivery Network or CDN and push our site out closer to these users.
The default storage or drives available on the machines on the cloud can be an amalgam of SaaS and HaaS (Hardware as a Service): Straightforward user interfaces combined with a solid hardware storage infrastructure. Being able to pay for the space that meets the specific needs at a given time has significant advantages over a traditional solution like building out a storage area network in the local office. Your storage can be available to all of your satellite offices.
Cloud computing and cloud storage have come a long way in the past year or two, and with the hosting industry’s focus on the development and enhancement of the platforms. The sky is the limit for the clouds.
Cloud computing and cloud storage take the principle of concept. Multiple physical servers are created and taken through the development. If you connect to them from your own place, you could basically start with one node (like an Amazon EC2 instance, and an S3 account), and in case you need more processing power, you could setup a process to power-up more instances, but they would still be different virtual servers running either the same, or many different images.
At the end it can be summed up that it is not very difficult to get it rolling, connected or registered with it as you have to follow a simple procedure just like you ask help from someone and when the work is done you say thanks and disable the service. It is that simple. Salesforce.com, Google’s Gmail and Apps, instant messaging from AOL, Yahoo and Google, Twitter and VoIP from Vonage and Skype are some common examples of SaaS providers. Cloud computing is in actual fact a type of computing service model that can be used at any time, that increases on demand and decreases when you don’t have a demand, making it something that appears quite striking especially in the present situation.
