We all have been using computers from a while, but MacBooks and iMacs are one of a different kind, and when we say this, we mean the smoothness and the next-level functionality of MacOS with tons of features along with some of the features are pretty hidden to the users but can make the day to day working on a Mac much easier and fun here are 10 of them :
1. Force Quit
We all know that MacOS works in a very seamless and smooth way with inbuilt applications, but when we install and execute third-party applications on our Mac, we find that sometimes the applications do hang due to lack of integration. But MacOS even has a provision for this named a Force quit. Whenever you come across a hang-on or a third-party application crash, you can just stop it by selecting Force Quit.
2. Skip Youtube Ads
Whenever you watch a Youtube video a mandatory advertisement comes before the video and to avoid that user may take a premium subscription, but what if the user doest purchases it, he/she has to bear with the irritating Advertisements. But the MacOS also has this feature for no premium. You can do it by dragging it in the video forward/rewind menu in the top toolbar.
3. Text-to-speech
Text-to-speech functions are very convenient and easy to solve when we have a lot to draft, Still, for this, you might go for paid services or for free with a lot of inaccuracy but now we have a solution for this which can be enabled by clicking the function key (fn) twice in the notes application. Will pop up a mic icon and you are ready to speak, and dictate your Mac.
4. Spotlight
This function can help you significantly when you have a lot of files to work upon in your pc. In other devices, you are limited to searching within a folder or a drive, but in MacOS, you can search a particular file with any format or extension throughout your Mac. Can be done with spotlight search. Just enable it with Command+spacebar, and you are good to go.
5. Battery Cycler Counter
As Laptop user, everyone worries about their battery life and can only assume the health of their better with any other Operating system/Device, but when you are using a MacOS, you can see and find the exact health of your battery and the number of cycles it completed going from 0% to 100%. Is visible in the Power tab in the system information application, along with many other battery details.
6. Screenshots
Screenshots are made easy with Mac as it provides many options for a screen shot like thing. It can vary from particular screenshot to particular screen recordings. You can find these multiple options from the application launcher by pressing F4 and then selecting the screenshot option or by pressing Command+shift+# and Command+shift+$ for particular portion’s screenshot.
7. Adding Digital Signatures
We all know the technology of digital signatures is used when you cannot put your signature physically, but to make this, we need to outsource it and get it done. But MacOS has this function of creating it on MacBooks in the preview application by drawing your signature on the trackpad.
8. Gestures
There are multiple gestures that you can set up on Macs and use when needed ; this works perfectly in Macs because the trackpad which Mac offers has a feature called haptic feedback that means when you click on the trackpad in Mac, it does not go inside, it just gives to vibrative senses which make you believe that it is clicked. Many gestures can be set up in the system preferences.
9. Sleep Mode
When we use a laptop from morning to evening, we shut it down at the end of the day but in between, we only put it to sleep. Thus Macs can also be kept to sleep, but the catch is they can be in sleep mode for more than the usual time, which may exceed to 1 month. Is even recommend not to shutdown your Mac regularly ; it can work seamlessly and smoothly even after six months of no shutdown.
10. First Aid
Whenever you feel you have your pc working not usually or out, of course, you can take it to a service center, but when you are at a remote location, there are chances that you may end up having your work delayed because of the issue. But MacBooks and iMacs come with a feature called First Aid which can initially repair your device at let you complete your important tasks with a limit of services and then fully functional when taken to the service center.
