When it comes to technology, Indians have proved their capabilities. Indians have their presence in almost every technology giant company in the world. The two biggest company- Google and Microsoft have Indian CEOs. Here are some of the top Indian technology giants:
1. Sunder Pichai
Sunder Pichai came into the limelight when he became the CEO of Google in 2015. Pichai did his schoolings from Chennai and engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. This IIT graduate did M.S from Stanford University and Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He joined Google in 2004 and took the position of CEO in 2015.
2. Satya Nadella
The next in this row is none other than Satya Nadella. He is the CEO of Microsoft. He was born in Hyderabad and completed his schoolings from Hyderabad. Nadella holds an engineering degree from Manipal Institute of Technology, Karnataka. Apart from this, he also holds an M.S from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He used to work in Sun Microsystems before joining Microsoft. He joined Microsoft in 1992 and promoted to the position of CEO in 2014.
3. Shantanu Narayan
Shantanu Narayan is the CEO of Adobe. Born in Hyderabad, he graduated from Osmania University and did his M.S from the University of California. He also holds an MBA degree from Bowling Green State University. Narayan started his career at Apple and co-founded Pictra which initiated the concept of sharing photos over the internet. He joined Adobe in 1998 and became the CEO in 2007.
4. Azim Hashim Premji
He is the chairman of Indian IT giant Wipro. He is the Czar of Indian IT Industry. Born in Mumbai, Premji holds an engineering degree from Stanford University. Currently, Premji owns 73% of Wipro.
5. N.R Narayan Murthy
Murthy is one of the co-founders of Indian IT giant Infosys. Murthy holds a B.Tech degree from National Institute of Engineering, Mysore and master’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He served as the CEO for 21 years and later became its chairman.
6. Sanjay Mehrotra
Sanjay Mehrotra is the president and the CEO of Micron Technology. He is the co-founder of SanDisk. Mehrotra did his graduation and post graduation from the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a degree from Stanford University, Graduate school of Business. He co-founded SanDisk in 1988 and took charge of the president and CEO.
7. Francisco D’Souza
He was born in Nairobi, Kenya but has roots from India. He did his graduation from the University of East Asia, Macau and MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. D’Souza joined Cognizant in 1992 and became its CEO and a member of the board of Director in 2007.
8. Ashok Vemuri
Ashok Vemuri is the CEO and president of IT service provider iGATE. He completed his bachelor’s from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi and a diploma in Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
9. Sanjay Kumar Jha
Sanjay Kumar Jha is the former CEO and president of Global Foundries. Before joining Global Foundries, Jha used to be the CEO of Motorola mobility and COO of Qualcomm. He did his graduation from the University of Liverpool and did Ph.D. from the University of Strathclyde.
10. Rajiv Suri
Rajiv Suri is the CEO of Nokia. He received his bachelor’s degree from Manipal Institute of Technology. He joined Nokia in 1995 and became the CEO in 2014. Suri has achieved such top-notch positions without pursuing any MBA or post-graduation degree.
