- Tesla coil:
It is tower usually of any height that use coils to shoot lighting out into the air. The capacitor of coil build up and store the energy, so it can create a spark gap and shoot the energy into the air just like lightning bolts. These are found in science entertainments and museums as entertainment.
- The Magnifying Transmitter:
To provide power wireless was one of the Tesla, biggest obsession and also intended Tesla coil to part of the wireless power system. To test it, he had built two-record breaking Tesla coils. The tower built by him shot the lightning bolts 130 feet long. His invention was considered ahead of his time, and it was not officially developed until the mid-2010’s.
- Tesla Turbine:
Tesla developed his turbine engine that uses combustion to make the disk rotate.it was big successful moment has the fuel efficiency of his engine was 60 % which is higher than our efficiency of 42%.
- The shadowgraph:
Rontgen has been believed to develop the first x-ray called shadowgraph, but there are clear evidence that Tesla had worked on it much earlier. Unfortunately, many of his work lost due to fire in his lab. However, he improved the Rontgen the shadowgraph method, making one of the clearest x-rays.
- Radio:
Before Tesla burnt, he was working on developing a radio. He was preparing to send the signals from 50 miles , away, but before he could reconstruct his lab and equipment, an Italian man already secured the patent for the device.
- The Neon Lamp:
Tesla also contributed in improving the invention of fluorescent lights. He took the fluorescent lights and created the first neon sign. In 1893 at Chicago World’s Flair he demonstrated these signs which can be used to make unique designs and even words.
- The Niagara Falls Transformer House:
For building power generator at Niagara Falls, Thomas Edison was considered the first choice. After seeing the Telesa work for Westinghouse Electric, though they went with Telesa’s alternating current power. It worked and now set the standard for hydroelectric power.
- The induction Motor:
Tesla invented Induction motor and patented it earlier, though Ferrari presented the induction engine first. The motor used electromagnets to spin it. The motors are commonly used in power tools, blow dryers, and vacuums today also.
- The Radio Controlled Boat:
The first radio, “The Tele automation” was invented by Tesla. He was denied the patent for it because the patent office didn’t find it feasible. But Tesla proved them wrong by demonstrating the boat in 1898 at Electronic Exhibition. This invention by him is considered the grandfather of drone.
- The Alternating Current:
It is known as the crowning achievement of Telesa. AC power helps in transmitting the electricity over long distance efficiently. Westinghouse bought the AC patent from Telesa and used it for bidding on the lightning of the Chicago World”s Fair. They got the contract and was able to provide power at a lesser cost than using direct current.
