I have installed Ubuntu on my PC and I want to login to my administrator account via terminal to use the network settings. What should I do to login using my administrator account on Ubuntu after boot? How to use the terminal properly? Please include screenshots with your answer if possible.

I know that icons can be created in Windows as .bat files to run the commands. I want to do the same thing with Ubuntu. I want to write some commands in the terminal regarding the deletion of unnecessary files, save it as an application and run it whenever necessary. Is there anything I can do?

I'm having a hard time running Ubuntu 14.04 on my PC. When I try to download or install anything, the orange bar reaches the halfway and I get this freaking error:

The installation or removal of a software package failed.

I'm currently on Ubuntu 14.04 and I want to install Linux Mint on my system alongside. I have Linux Mint on a USB stick and when I insert the USB into one of the ports and select the first boot device as USB from BIOS, I get the 'Operating System not Found' error.
