AD-Share Integration – Errors in Active Directory Operations in ESXi 4.1. We upgraded from ESXi 4.0 to 4.1, to use the Active Directory Authentication for users. Now we get a mysterious error when trying to join a domain with an user:
- "Errors in active directory operations".
We can reach the AD Server running (Win2k3) from the ESXi host and that Active Directory is performing well with other servers. The Export of the ESXi Logs gave no clue what happens.

There are five Operations Masters roles in any active directory forest. One or more should be assigned as domain controllers. What are they and which should be on the DC?

I cannot understand why the server and other machines cannot access the internet despite the fact that the Active Directory has been properly configured. The computers are however in the domain and authenticating server. Here is the list of the settings that were configured:
Server:
– IP 192.168.0.10
– Mask: 255.255.255.0
– DNS 1: 192.168.0.10
– DNS 2: nothing
– Gateway: nothing
– Workstations:
– IP: 192.168.0.11to 192.168.0.20
– Mask: 255.255.255.0
– DNS 1: 192.168.0.10 (pointing to domain server)
– DNS 2: nothing
– Gateway: nothing
These were however not helpful since the server and other machines cannot connect to the internet via the router. What is the cause of this problem?

I would like to install clients in another forest and I do not want to download the client installation source files from the management point. How do I go about that? Also, please let me know what ports should be open for client communication between two forests.
