I experienced a Security Shield attack recently. My computer fixed most of its own issues except for this pesky error.

I downloaded Malware Bytes to deal with it because a friend of mine suggested it; however, when I try to run protection module, this (posted) error message appears. I experienced the same thing when I tried to use avast! real time protection instead. I’m thinking there’s malware in my unit that is disabling protection.

What should I do?

I met this error when I was trying to update Malware bytes scan (the free version) and run a on my computer. The error contained the message below.

I installed Eset Nod32 Smart Security on my PC for a while now. The software has inbuilt antispyware and a firewall as well. I never had any errors with this software until this morning when I was updating windows I received this error.

I was trying to do some tests on my PC with Avira12.script with my win7PE_Se build.

I have set the Avira to real-time protection, and I realized that a software was not started and my computer.

I second later, I received the error message.

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
