Hi Gurus,

I was installing Norton AV 2007 on my Win XP PC when I got this error.  I tried to click the link it provided then I clicked on the fix tool but nothing seemed to have happened.  I tried reinstalling but I got the same error. 

Next thing link said that I had to reinstall my Windows OS.  I believed this was very tedious for me to do so I tried this forum and wanted to ask for any other workaround to solve this kind of problem.

I was trying to install a Norton hotfix for my antivirus software when I received this error message.  I was installing for Norton Internet Security 2009 and have Admin rights to the PC.  So I wondered why I got this error.  Anyway, I searched the web but found no solution.  I chanced upon this forum and hoped that someone could help.  Any advice on how to fix the problem?

I was installing Norton Antivirus 2005 on my old PC with Win XP when I encountered this error message, see screenshot below.  I have searched the web but couldn’t find any possible solution to the problem.  Any advice on what to do?  I have tried reinstalling several times but the same thing happened.  Please help.

My uncle knows how I love to have my own computer, which I can use for working online. So last month, he gave me one desktop computer. It's kind a old model but since I can't afford to buy a new one, I gladly accepted it.

But I found out that there's no anti-virus application installed on the unit. 

My friend suggested downloading free anti-virus software online, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. 

Hi!  I have a problem with my laptop.  It runs with Windows 7 and I did not have any problems before this.  I had downloaded Avast and the service pack and then bam!  When I turned it on, it hanged when it displayed the Windows logo.  I tried to turn it on in safe mode but the same thing happens.  I don't know what to do anymore.  Please do help.

My boss told me to test the Avira Antivir Professional software so I downloaded the trial version which was three months ago. 

After the trial version was up, we bought the Avira and reinstalled to the PCs.

However, on the first PC I was about to install to, I got this error message (see below). 

Not sure how to go about the error so I turned to this forum. 

Can someone give advice on how to fix this?

I have this hypothesis that my computer was attacked by a computer virus because my computer suddenly freezes. Now, I would like to ask which is the safest thing to do; run a disk fragment, use virus scan, or just scan the disk. Are these processes will really solve my computer problem? If they all worked, what should come first?

I have been using anti virus software since I started using PC. Some can really detects virus or malicious files. How do you create an anti virus software? What programming language should I need to learn? And how do you know that a file or an application is a virus?

I used Microsoft security essentials. It was serving good. But for some days I am facing problems. It can't delete virus named 'Recycler'. I want it removed from my PC. Which anti-virus software is best suited for this. Give me a suggestion please.
