Anti-Virus
I am using computers since past 10 years for home only and using AVG and Avast antivirus. I used to get lot of comments from my friends telling that the system will crash if there are two antivirus in the same computer and when both are active simultaneously. I have not spotted anything upfront till now. But recently after updating Avast antivirus to latest version my PC has become dead slow. Now I am thinking to have only one antivirus. Can anybody suggest on the same? It is to home usage and has to be free and less size so that my computer can run faster than now. Thanks

The worldwide accepted antivirus, Avast may be a boon for many of its happy users but I am way too much irritated with it since a few days ago. I had inserted one of my friends USB Pen drive in my PC and since then it always says “Malicious file found” even if the computer is ideal. Why does it happen? And if I leave my pc scanning the antivirus is not able to locate any malicious files. How to fix this?

Just today, I downloaded some software that installed omniboxes. I am unaware of what is this and just installed since the software is free but it has installed funny browser, and I know that this is some sort of a virus. I don't know how it passed on my three antivirus software (ESET, Windows Defender and Iobit). I scanned my computer system but it remains undetected. I also uninstalled from the Control Panel and removed all its traces but it's still there. I used other browsers but it also redirects to omniboxes. Is this a malware or any form? Are there anyone here who encountered the same? If so, can you tell me how did you manage to remove it from your system? I don't consider reformatting my computer. I'm sure there is a way to fix this. Please help!

Hi! I badly need some help from you guys! I accidentally downloaded a very bad malware and I was unable to get rid of it. Some applications like Optimizer Pro keeps installing by themselves and it's totally annoying because once they are installed, I will manually uninstall them on the Control Panel and clean my PC with CCleaner and ADWCleaner. After this, everything will be back into normal. But after 3 or 5 minutes or if I restart my computer, same thing will happen again. My dilemma is happening for 3 days now and I really want a quick yet effective solutions for this.

I have not changed any settings on my computer yet when I log in to the system, I get a message that the certificate has been revoked. This blocks off my internet connection and I cannot access any site. The message reads: Web-shield has been blocked…certificate revoked…idvisitor.slate.com. I understand that this is caused by Avast but I do not understand why. What is a slate problem? Any suggestions on how to remove it since it is very annoying?

I had a virus infection on my PC few days ago and it still is. I need to delete the virus before it would brick up my PC. The virus is located in a subfolder in D:. I came to know this when in opened a folder named NVIDIA but I don't have any GPU. My PC froze after that. When I tried a full system scan with Avast, it shows nothing but still the thing is in D:.

I have installed 360 Internet Security on my desktop PC. I ran a virus scan last night and it found some. I deleted those infected items and it said that they were backed up to quarantine. Actually, it deleted one of my favorite application's .exe file and I want to restore that. Where is the quarantine on 360 Internet Security?

I noticed earlier today that my laptop kept on getting very hot when I played games. Previously, it could handle most high-end games with ease unlike many similar laptops. I have checked the task manager and found out that there are some ‘COM surrogate’ processes that are running, and consuming a high bandwidth. Whenever I restart the PC, the processes stop for a while only to appear and continue business as usual. Googling hasn’t helped me either. Anyone who knows about this? I need help

After a successful scanning, my AVG antivirus indicated that I should restart the PC and I did it. I understand that the PC is supposed to open with all applications but most of my applications were missing after the restart. I do not know what is causing this. Is it the Antivirus or I could be having another problem? I am not running low on disk space so they have not been eliminated because of space. Help me counter this issue.
