I just picked up a LaserWriter Select 360 and need the cord to connect to my Macintosh Classic. I guess I really need to know if it will work, and where to get a cord for it.  

I also want to know, how to tell how many pages it has printed in during a period of time (if that is possible).

I just got my first iMac and I love it and downloaded and installed the usual things, I was using when I was on Windows but I see a lot of people in the community saying good things about pieces of software like iStat, the widget and I'm wondering if its safe to get it.

Can it cause any damage or so on to the Mac, in any way like viruses or other malicious things? I was very careful on Windows because I wanted to stay as safe as possible and was very careful with what I get over the Internet and I'm still a bit paranoid about all the viruses and other malicious stuff from the Windows platform.

I have a Nikon camera and have used the voice memo feature. On a number of photos pertaining to research work, I have done. Being new to iPhoto, I'm unable to find how to play back, or if iPhoto supports, the voice memo feature that is on my camera.

From the time I installed 5608, I get an error message whenever I try to start a Virtual machine.  Here are my machine specifications 20”iMAC , 180 GB of free disk space , 3 GB Memory.

I have been getting the following error message on my machine from recent days.

System extension cannot be used

The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the products vendor for an update.

I am not sure what this means, any help regarding this would be appreciated.

I have a question about needing to have AppleTalk configured for a VLAN, since OSX 6 no longer supports Appletalk. Some client machines are using Leopard 10.5. I have already said that it is probably unnecessary to have that setting. I have been told its easy enough to add if its needed later. They are installing a new VLAN switch to solve an authentication problem that the MAC users are having.

I am about a week into my iPad and I have a question. When in Safari, I Google ESPN and the page loads. When I go to another app or shut it down, the next time I open Safari it opens the last page I was on. Why?

I cannot figure it out. Suggestions?

Also can I set a permanent home page like I can on my computer ?

What is the DOCK for and do I have to have it to use the iPod?

How do i charge it? 

Do I need iTunes account and why?
