Hardware Components
I replaced my hard drive because the old one is already defective. There are lots of pictures and videos that I wanted to recover from that hard drive.
I don’t know how to do it. It was the Seagate 500GB SATA. When I tried to use it, it doesn’t boot to windows. It just says hard drive failed. I hope I can recover those files using my new hard drive that is currently working.
I’ve done research on the internet but I can’t find anything.

I had bought a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop almost one year ago. Recently, I noticed most of the time when I started my laptop, the error message describing that the battery it uses is not a recognizable battery.
I removed the battery, cleaned it and attached it again. When I started the laptop for the second time, another error had occurred saying “The model number for the primary battery cannot be determined. This will prevent any battery present from charging. Please insert a Lenovo battery for best system operation.” Actually, when I am in home, I am not using the battery.
I am directly connecting my laptop to AC cord. Most of the time, I am using the battery only when I travel. Does this situation affect the lifespan of the battery?

Hi,
I amusing Windows Vista Home Basic and my problem is that windows gives me an error every time.
I try to copy files from my computer to my external western digital 1TB drive.
It says,
(Error 0x8007045D: the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error).
I tried the windows scan disk on my external hard drive, I tried to perform windows defrag but it takes too long and cancelled it, so to defragment it I downloaded O&O Defrag and fast defragmented it.
Please Help me out as I don’t want to lose my data because of a system crash.

Yesterday, I turned on my computer to check my email and when I open my internet browser which was "Google Chrome." It says that was "temporarily down. etc." I immediately clicked on the control panel to check the internet connection of my computer. My internet is connected and the LAN card has light on it but its not blinking like before.
So I decided to reboot my computer and when it opens up to the desktop I click on the Google browser to checked if its already okay but its not. My friend just told me that the LAN card failed to supply internet connection to computer. He suggested to replaced it with a new LAN Card. But I don't know how to do that. Is there someone who can teach me how to replace a LAN card?

What do I have left to do when I am not getting an image on my screen? I have the traditional desktop personal computer. Last week it has worked smoothly but on shutting down I heard the screen making some flashing sounds.
I already verified the connections to the graphics card with correct screwing the two bolts on the blue screen plug. I removed it, cleaned it, verified that all pins are in correct positions and put it back. Still I am getting a blinking power led on the computer screen when the Central Processing Unit is booting up.

How to fix a computer when there is a beep sound?
When I turned on my computer yesterday I suddenly heard a beep sound. I press the power button to turned it off again. After 5 minutes I tried to turned on again and I heard the beep sound again. I turned it off for the second time but before I open it again I checked the hardware inside the CPU and I think its all okay.
So turned on the computer again but while the computer was on its start up mode I touched Hard disk, RAM and even the Video Card. I noticed that its very hot. So I immediately turned it off again to fix it. First, I removed the RAM, video card and Hard disk and then wiped the dust that's sticks to it. Then I put it back and turned the computer.

When I was studying 8 years ago, we attended a seminar about computer hardwares.
I remember what the speaker told us, he said creating partitions are one of the simplest ways to safety your important files and also for much better arrangement of the files. For example putting all together the very important files inside the Partition A, then all music and videos will be placed at Partition B and lastly the other files in the Partition C.
Now, my question is this: Since it was 8 years ago, I don't remember the steps on how to make partitions.
