How is checking disk helps a computer?
I'm using a Windows Crystal XP and its checking the disk. Its been running for 4 hours today and it's not finish yet. It's on the 3rd phase and it's taking too long.
Is it safe to just shutdown the computer while checkdisk is running? When I start to run the checkdisk I clicked on the recovery of bad sectors and fix files automatically and the 3rd phase is when it check the free hard drive space.
How does the check disk helps a computer?
And why should it always do that?

DE cable problem, how will I fix it?
I'm fixing my own computer, but I think there is an IDE cable problem. My hard drive is connected by the IDE, but the CD drive is connected to the motherboard by an IDE cable. When the IDE cable is connected to the CD drive, it doesn't open, even the status indicator on it light up when the computer is turned on.
But when the IDE cable is not connected to the indicator light flashes and it can be opened. I have tried using another IDE cable but nothing happens. How will I fix it?

I want to be able to use the Wii remote as a mouse too. I haven’t tried it myself and it’s nice to always have a device that could do a lot of things. Making Wii remote I’ve been playing around to function as a mouse seems to be a good idea.
Do I need a Bluetooth adapter and install third party software? My PC has a Bluetooth built in that operates well on Windows 7.
Has anyone figured out how to do this? I hope it will also work on Mac too.
Any solutions you might have will be most helpful.

Hello,
I'm planning to get a security camera/cctv for my work place. We have 2 entrance the front door and the back door unfortunately both of them are not installed with any security camera yet.
I have search in Google about many types of security camera but it makes me more confuse. I just want a simple security camera to operate and understand how to do that. But may be not too simple. I was wondering if it can be connected to a computer so I can access the security camera directly from my laptop or iPhone or iPad or any mobile device.

Shadowing LCD monitor, how does it happen?
I just bought a brand new 14" ASUS LCD monitor but once I installed and opened it. I noticed that there's a shadow at the right side of the screen. After seeing it, I immediately turned off my computer to checked if its the problem and I put it in a rest. After a while, I turned it on again to see if I fix the problem but its not. So I checked the cable at the back of the CPU if its correctly connected and its fine. I removed all the possible application that caused the shadowing of my monitor and I even check my new monitor if the display button is adjusted correct and its also fine. How does it happen?

Hi
I am having an issue with my own laptop. To be exact, my laptop is Dell. The issue with my laptop is, for some reason (I don’t know what the reason is) my laptop stuck at a white blank display that asks me to enter a system password. But when I do the same, it use to keep saying that “password not accepted”.
In-fact, everything worked fine before a few days ago. Whereas, when I turned it on after some days, my laptop booted to a white screen that asked for a secure log-on password and after entering my password, it says wrong password and to try again but I have entered a valid one.
