I have a Seagate barracuda 7200.8 (st3400832a) 300GB model, and it’s making a funny sound.
The hard drive works perfectly at start up, bios detects it, act. But while it’s booting it will make a spring recoil noise randomly. then, some times while I’m right in the middle of loading something,
It will make a light click then crash (usually between 3-10 hours of being on), but if I reboot, it works again.
Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it?

I have a Compaq Presario F733AU Laptop. The following problem started two weeks ago.
Whenever I insert any kind of optical media the screen becomes blank. I have both XP and Windows 7 installed, but the results are same in both cases. The only difference is that in Windows 7, the screen becomes light blue (not blue screen of death).
The interesting fact is that any bootable disc boots successfully.
The model of my DVD drive is LG GSA-T20N.
Thanks in advance.

The computer processor as I know it co-ordinates all the activities of both software and hardware. Now what is a co-processor? Why a co-processor? Outline for me the distinctive feature of a co-processor that makes it different from the main processor. Can't both the processor and the co-processor be merged into one for improved performance and space limitation?

I have a problem with my laptop as I tried to connect it with my printer.
I already installed the driver for the printer but my laptop cannot detect the printer which is already connected.
To isolate the problem, I connect my printer to my sister's laptop and I was able to get the printer working.
I am not sure what is the problem with my laptop and I really hope you can help me.

I have been using my Toshiba laptop with a Windows Vista operating system for two years now. Then one day my DVD drive has just stopped working.
I tried inserting different cd's to make sure the problem wasn't the cd and every time I did the system doesn't recognize the DVD drive. The system just shows my C: and E: drive but no longer shows the DVD drive. The error goes like "This device can not start – error code 10".
I tried using driver's fix/scan but it doesn't solve the problem. Also tried restoring the system but it doesn't fix the error. Could someone share me please what to do in this kind of error. Thank you so much.

I'm planning on purchasing a new PC- a Sager- and I'm in a bit of a dilemma. There are four graphics card options: GTX 560M, 465M, 580M, and ATI HD6990M. I've narrowed it down to the 465M and HD6990M, as the 560M isn't powerful enough for me, and the 580M is more expensive than both the HD6990M and the 465M and yet LESS powerful. The 6990M is a tiny bit more powerful, but I know the NVIDIA comes with all the cool NVIDIA stuff like PhysX and all that.
which one is good here? Can any one list the pros and cons of each?

I love to travel a lot but work almost always force me to bring my laptop computer with my travels. So I work while I’m on the road on the train sometimes on the plane. Are there any truths that leaving your laptop on sleep mode while travelling will damage it? Why?
