Linux
I am using Linux with my Oracle database. I was working on it and while I wanted to back up my files, when I tried selecting something in the backup selection list, I got this error message: “Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly”. More details of the error message are shown in the attached screenshot below. Please help me resolve my problem.

After updating my Fedora 14 database, I received an Avast error message which says the engine argument is invalid.
What should be the next thing to do?
Could I just use Avast itself to fix the problem or external help is needed?
I have inserted the image of the error message below for more understanding.
Please suggest on what to do.
Error:
An error occurred in avast! engine: Invalid argument
Deleted stale lock file '/root/.avast/lockfile-root'.

I installed openSuse 11.0 for my Linux OS and downloaded catalyst 8.9 to be installed after. Then, I completed the installation of Catalyst 8.9 by following the ‘Advanced Micro Devices (AMD)’ site’s instruction and the installation was a success. (I can tell that the driver was installed because I was then able to enhance my screen resolution). In spite of this, I came to face an error message when I tried starting the catalyst control center. The attached error message will give you a better idea.

I am trying to execute High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster on 5 PCs but I am running out of conclusion. I heard about Clustered High Availability Operating System (CHAOS), Red Hat, Slackwave and CentOS. What I want to know is what is the best Linux distribution that can run with my HPC cluster? Where can I find some articles or information that can compare Linux distributions?

I bought a dedicated server pre-loaded with CentOS and plesk panel 9. I have information about plesk panel and Secure Shell (SSH) root connected with my VPS. I asked my technician to install Linux and he installed Linux Fedora on my computer. I had a problem running it so now I need to install it by myself. But I don’t know how or where to start. Can anyone help? I know adding or removing anything from my dedicated server won’t cause any problem, right?
