I have no experience in using Linux and I want to install NS2.

I am really new to install Linux operating system, so containing an old OS is there any partition format needed or can I operate in laptop? Installing moment setup not getting file location. So I want to use Linux and windows OS in same drive but which OS will be good for install first? Please suggest.

I tried running MemoQ on Linux using WINE but it was not successful due to an error in installing the Microsoft. NET. Framework, and .NET. I cannot skip this because it is required in MemoQ. What should I do with this? Please help me.

I just got the Ubuntu Update (10.04 (lucid) GNOME 2.30.2 and Kernel 2.6.32-30 generic, GCC version 4.4.3.) and I have started using it. However, a time came wherein I experienced difficulty in accessing the internet. The message in the dialogue box would say, “Can’t find the server.” Sometimes, however, when I click the Try Again button, it would work. It is really annoying for me since I need to try it over and over again in order gain access to the internet. I have never experienced this before using the 4.10. There is also another message which says:  “Ubuntu cannot find the server.” I wanted to go back to the previous settings, but then I don’t know how.  Please help me. Thank you so much.

I am a Heavy Hotspot Shield user. I want to install Ubuntu on my old laptop because it looks great and it’s also a low resource eater. But my, I am confused if this could be possible since there is no Linux Version of HS. Please help me to find any other way to install Ubuntu without using any VPN Solution. Sometimes when I watch videos in YouTube, my CPU usage runs around 100%.

I am basically just starting to learn how to use Ubuntu and Noob and I would relay appreciate it if you could help me fix my problem.

Why is it that when I added a non-root user and tried to make use of the "su" command to turn the user into root, it didn't work, instead I got the error message "permission denied". What else can I do to solve this problem?

I have a problem I need to solve for my friend. I'm using Xandros Linux with my crappy comp . Well I just got my comp back from repair shop.It was all fast and good. I totally love it but he I a problem installing a printer and connecting to the internet.

I installed my printer because it says "You system is not compatible enough" or something but it worked perfectly when it was windows 98. 
I'm Printer model is HP DeskJet 3550. Modem (internet) : Motorola (Cable Modem) Surfboard Sb5100.

What do I do to get this going smoothly?
