Hello,
I try to share a file and I get this permission error: 'net user share' returned error 255: net user share add: failed to add share media.
Error was Operation not permitted. I am a total noob in Ubuntu and I need help to fix this or another way to easily share files.
This is what I take:

Hi,
I'm using a Compaq Presario cq60 and a dell Inspiron laptop. When I run them in Windows mode, the maximum core temperature it attains is around 50 (Celsius). But when I run in Linux mode sometimes the core temperature goes up to 90 (Celsius) within just, 1-2 hours. I have placed several cooling pads and sinks but seems that they are of no use.
Please help me on this issue.
Thanks.

I have a problem with my iPod shuffle. I can't mount it in Ubuntu 11.10. I plug it into the USB port, but it doesn't recognize it. I can't find the mount directories. I installed Rhythmbox, but it doesn't recognize it either. I checked /mnt, there are no files. I don't know what else to do. Any ideas? Thanks for your help

Cannot install the ksplice package through the software center application on Ubuntu. This package includes some advanced features which are highly not recommended for the general purpose use. To use this on Ubuntu download and install the uptrack package of ksplice.

I want to install Google chrome and opera web browsers on my machine running Ubuntu version 11.04. I have a mobile broadband internet connection and I was using Firefox previously.
I was successful downloading the installers for opera and chrome. When I tried to install chrome, during the installation an error occurred and all I see is some load error.
When I tried my test my luck on installing opera it was even worse, the installer goes smoothly until it is reading the setup database but just after that there is a bunch of error messages and the installation fails.
