How can I check out is there any bad sector in my computer’s Hard Disk?

I have HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop. Recently I have problems with its DVD drive.

It doesn't read DVD every time.

I tried cleaning lens of the drive, still problem is not solved.

How do I make the error code go away. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but still it can not detect the CD Rom

I need help with my computer I have just recently installed Battlefield 3, when I played it I noticed the game play is very lag, in slow motion. Then the game play sounds are very annoying it keeps on repeating itself. Here are my computer specs : AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400 memories: 2GB DDR2 Display: GeForce 9400 GT Motherboard: Asrock N68C-S UCC I wish to upgrade my computer graphics card, but I don't know where to start.

I formatted my PC and now  the wireless button does not turn on my WIFI connectivity icon and bluetooth. It has also effected  the front  panel USB ports
