Misc Hardware
Want your suggestions on what to do for headphone jacks that don’t seem to work in Pavilion dv6 that I just bought. A friend told me that this is probably because of a missing driver because everything seems okay, even the setting. I went to Future Shop for a replacement but sad to say, the similar unit was out of stock already.

Hi,
I had my first generation 4 GB iPod mini refurbished with a new screen and battery. After that, all seemed well apart from the problems I am having when charging it using an AC adapter or a car charger. The problem is it only charges when connected to a computer. I tried fixing it by clicking the “restore” option in the computer but part of the process requires plugging the iPod to the AC adapter, and since the iPod does not respond to the AC adapter, the iPod is now stuck in that state. I would like to know if anybody has ever encountered such a problem and what is the solution to fix it.

Hello, Tomo-san here! Please assist me for I am having trouble with my new set of DVDs and the movies I’ve downloaded from the web. My DVD driver could read the title of the movies, but when I tried to play them with either media player or VLC media, it just won’t work. My DVD driver works well with CDs though, but it would not play well when I tried to open the Football Manager games. The DVD driver had a notice message that the “device is working”, but it does not really work! What are the steps to make DVD driver work well, so I could make the best use of the DVDs, CDs and downloaded files I have. Thank you.

I have this Linksys wireless router that works perfectly fine until I tried to connect a laptop of my roommate to that router. This laptop is an old version of Lenovo Think Pad that runs on Vista. There is no problem in connecting the laptop but I am receiving an error message saying the connection is limited/no connectivity. I tried fixing the problem but I still can’t get it right as implied by the message that goes like it cannot get the IP address. I reset the Winsock and restarted the TCP/IP to fix the problem but it still won’t work. I’m running out of steps to take, please let me know what else should be done. If you need more information, please let me know so I can give you the details.

I am looking for best camera lenses that is cheaper and could do the job of doing up-close photos, indoor pictures, etc.
What I mean is, a lens that can be able to do all photo imaging techniques.
I am also planning to add SB-400 to get a nice flash when doing indoor shots.
Any suggestion would be a great help.
Thanks.

I am having difficulties using my USB memory stick that should work on a USB extension cord which is connected into my old hub. I keep getting an error that the device does not recognized by the system. I tried my USB mouse and gamepad and there is no problem. I can be able to connect the USB memory stick directly into the computer port but when using the old hub, it won’t work. Is there something that I need to install? Or the hub is already damaged? How will I know? Thanks

Hello! I have an Asus NAS on the network, with a 4 TB hard drive. I want to back up the files, and access the NAS through the FTP and download the needed files on a daily basis. The problem is that I must download all the files every day, while I only want the new files, from the current day. I need to know if there’s a software on the market, which could automatically download these files on a daily basis. Please let me know if there’s such a program on or any way I could download only the recently changed files from the server.

I am running on Windows 2008 server and want to configure the firewall scope for the File and Print Sharing. I filtered the inbound rules to show only those connected with File and Print Sharing. I have enabled File and Print Sharing using a server manager, and the firewall rules have been reconfigured, so it’s only the scope which needs to be limited. I filtered the inbound rules again and noticed that there were 9 rules that were turned on. Do I need to limit the scope on these rules? Can I copy the list of scopes from one rule to another?
