Mobile Hardware

I have a 160 GB western digital hard drive. Recently the power went down and flickered while my computer was on. That caused my hard disk to get corrupted since now it shows only 33 GB of space and the rest is un-partitioned space. I tried removing the hard drive and reinstalling it after sometime but that didn’t help at all.

I tried using some recovery software on it to get back my sensitive data but they cant access the un-partitioned space.

Any ideas on how I can recover my stuff back?

I really need it since I don’t have any back up of that data.

I bought my HP laptop CQ61 like 8 months back. It had been working fine till now. Recently I drained out the battery in a flight. When I reached back to home and put it in on the charger it didn’t get charged.

I mean the light doesn’t get turn on and neither the laptop. I tried removing the battery cleaning up the terminals and replacing it back but it had no effect. I hope it's not the laptop but the battery but then batteries don’t run out in 6-7 months. Please give me some idea as to what is wrong with my laptop.

Hi!

I have a Dell inspiron laptop that keeps on shutting off by itself, though it does turn on sometimes and works for hours .But sometimes it shuts off  the very first time, I switch it. It looks like someone is unplugging, when  shuts down because its sudden. I don’t know what could have caused this?

Although my fan is busted , I keep it cool by an external power source fan. It’s not an overheating problem since I checked the laptop bottom and it is cool when it does that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Lately my power supply has started up more than the usual fan noise. I tried almost everything I know like opening it up and cleaning it up with a blower but the damn noise won’t stop. I even installed a software that will help me reduce my fan speed as my pc is in an air conditioned room and won’t need much cooling but sadly my motherboard won’t support that option.

The weirdest part is that the noise slowly increases when I turn on my computer and after sometime it is unbearable. It’s a cooler master 450 watt power supply with a large size bearing fan.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Hey I have a question. I recently bought a 128mb64 bit 8x speed video card for my PC in which earlier I was using a 64mb card. Well my problem is that after installing the new card my PC gets stuck while playing games like command and conquer generals. I think it is related to the video card because earlier I didn’t have such problem with my old one.

Between I have a Pentium3 650mhz computer (an old and reliable system) and the cards I am talking about, both go into the onboard 2x agp slot.

Also the PC gets stuck mostly in games not in programs.

There is a problem in my PC which is partly my fault but I hope someone can guide me on how to correct it.

The problem is that my PC won’t boot because I installed a RAM chip while the PC was booting up. It turns on but wont boot I tried to make sure everything was fine and restore it but my CD drive won’t work either which means I can’t use the factory restore disk.

Does this mean I destroyed my motherboard or something or is there a problem with the RAM? Any help would be deeply appreciated

Hello users,

I have a Nokia n73 with me which I used as a flash drive to unlock passwords of my collage computers. It worked fine before some days. I added song to my mobile device before two days and it stopped working as a flash drive. Computers are detecting it as a flash drive but no booting up is possible. I tried configuring Bios Settings to boot from my Mobile Device. Reinstalled the Linux Bootup tool to manipulate Windows XP passwords but still it has the same problem. Can I boot some other good unlocking softwares from my mobile device as my collage computers don't have CD/DVD ROM installed.

Mobile : N73 Nokia
Booting using storage medium.

Hi! experts,

I am an owner of Nokia 6100 phone, whose firmware version is 5.5, npl-2 Nokia. I am not able to connect my mobile to my server on which I installed redhat Linux 7.0 using Nokia dku-5 cable. My operating system is detecting cable. If I am setting up values of parameters to dku-5, its giving me unsupported connection dku-5. For other cables the software is unable to detect my mobile. I tried gnokii version 0.5 & 0.6, but its not getting connected. I have tried this connection in windows XP which is working fine with my cable. Is there any idea why my server is not detecting this cable for gnokii?. Waiting for reply!

Thank you.

Hi my question is related to my monitor BenQ FP767, problem is that it won’t turn on when I press the power button to start it, the LED blinks like every 3 seconds and then no activity what so ever. Although sometimes the LED blinks and you can see the desktop just for a small portion of a second but that doesn’t happen very often.

The reason why I have not scraped it until now is that sometimes it just turns on fine and works for hours until I shut it off. I hope someone can give me some idea as to what the problem is so that I can correct it and not lose more money on another monitor
