Thanks in advance for anyone answering.
Well I was hoping someone can tell me what is the safe temperature for over clocking a Pentium 4 1.8GHZ since I have an Old one at home which I want to over clock.
Also I have read posts which say that to over clock it you just need to mess with the FSB, so is this true or should I change something else as well.
My CPU runs around 48-55C these days, and I have to tell you I do have the option to lock agp and pci speed if that is of any help.

I have a 2- year old Compaq Presario that keeps shutting down after around one hour of use. Problem started a year ago and keeps on repeating. These are the things I have already done to revive my laptop:
- Cleaned the fan and heat sink.
- Applied thermal paste to the heat sink.
- Reformatted the laptop.
- Installed updated anti-virus and made sure there are no malwares and Trojan.
- Brought my laptop to the service center.
- My laptop would be functioning well for around a week after I tried to fix it but it will start shutting down again. Is there any other way to truly fix it?

I am experiencing an error problem with booting on my desktop. Each time I try to start it on, on the black screen, it would appear an error message " Detecting IDE Drives…". And it would not anymore boot up or start or proceed to Windows XP. In the past, I would just press "Control + ALT + Del" and it would start up already and proceed to WIndows.

I enjoy playing games using my computer. It's my past time and my way to relax.
But I think this is the cause of the computer error I encountered. I am just not sure if it is a virus or some computer error really. After playing a game with my computer, I would shut it down already.
But instead of it being shut down, it would restart automatically. It would go to the basic when turning on the computer, and would ask you if you would want to turn it on a safe mode. I would choose the normal mode but after pressing enter, it would simply turn off again. I don't know what's wrong or why it kept on going back like a loop.

I am encountering a blue screen error on my laptop. Help me please. So badly need help on this error.
I was just working on something using my laptop the other day when suddenly my screen turned to blue.
The error message is "A problem has been detected, and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
It says to restart it, if this is the first time I've encountered it. I tried to restart it but eventually had encountered the blue screen error again.
It also mentioned to check if there were any new installations made to ensure that it was installed properly.

Hello members,
I got a problem with my system's CPU fan recently. It stopped to increase its RPM when under load . So, I can't use my system for heavy duty works which is obviously a big problem for me.Because, my system is getting too hot when I use it for heavy duty works. It actually occurred after I upgraded my video card to a GTS 450 from the old video card (8800gt).
Kindly, help me in this. Thanks.

I would like to get a second opinion on an issue I'm having with a Acer Aspire 5050 Notebook.
Seconds after I turn it on it shuts down suddenly (after passing the POST screen).
I've noticed that the CPU fan isn't working and cause overheating problems.
So is the faulty fan causing those sudden shutdowns right after I turn the laptop on or could the problem lie somewhere else?
