Hi guys, im a student developing android applications, i wanted to add a custom gesture in my android app such that when matched on the screen, an event is triggered depending on how it was matched and also of which dependencies include the length and weight of the gesture recorded. 

I just bought a new htc m8. It is said on the packaging that the internal memory is 32gigs. When checking the storage settings, I found that only 24 gigs where usable immediately. It is a new phone with no major apps on it. Can anyone explain to me this discrepancy? Is the software on-board that big?

Just upgrade my phone to android lollipop 5.01. I have noticed that my battery is currently draining very fast as compared to other operating systems that were one. Is there a way to stop my battery from draining? What can be causing the drain? I have approximately 2 gigs of apps on-board, could that be the main raison for the drain?

I recently read about Google mapping technology in 3D and was fascinated by the idea, can I sue my car GPS to establish a 3d mapping as well or do I need a special GPS device to achieve this? How much can such a device-GPS cost and which is the best available?

Recently I lost my phone or I think it got stolen. I had recently updated the software on it and was on Android 5.0. I heard that a few iteration of Android back, a data manager had been installed on Google for erasing private data and tracking the device. Can anyone walk me through the steps to use this device data manager? 

What are the various ways and techniques in uninstalling factory install apps in Android devices except rooting? My Acer Iconia One 7 Tablet comes with some apps that are not in my liking. I tried to uninstall them, but the only options I see is only force stop the apps which may resume later without my request. How do I get rid of these apps without rooting the tablet?

I have a nexus 4, 8gig of storage. Yesterday i finally managed to update my software to the latest lollipop 5.01. Everything went fine with the installation but when i open my camera app now, i receive an error message saying 'Unfortunately camera cannot be accessed'. Can anyone help me please. Can i re-install the app via the google app store ?
