Networking
For the past 2 months, when I restart my server (Active directory – Windows SBS 2003 SP2) and before "Applying computer settings" shows up, I get the message "Active directory is rebuilding indices" and I have noticed that the server has become slower. Is it possible to stop the automatic running of rebuilding indices?
Also at 'Services' the RPC is running with 'Local System Account'. Shouldn't it run with 'NT AUTHORITYNetworkService'?

I had configured a basic Apache web server and it is functioning without any errors. Now I need to make that server ready for SSL support. I need to know what are the changes that I have to make in the httpd.conf file and any other configuration files to make the server ready for SSL.

I am using a dsl modem but since I have two PCs which I'd like to connect to the Internet simultaneously, I decided to buy a router so that these two can connect. But, I just can't get my router and modem to communicate to each other.
What I mean is, I can't connect to the Internet with my router despite the fact that there is nothing wrong with my Internet. I can prove this because when I connect my modem directly to the PC, my Internet is OK but when I connect through a router, my Internet is dead. I always reset my modem and also my router and yet I can't get the two to communicate to each other.

Everybody,
I have a small wireless network at home and I need to setup my print server. I don't know where to get the IP address of my print server and I purchased my Linksys WPSM54G from a garage sale and it doesn't have the setup disk.
Below is my network setup.
Note: All of my computers are going online and I need to setup LPR on all of my computers since I will just be printing (not scanning) and I need to setup static IP on my print server.
Wired: Windows XP
Wireless: Lenovo T61 laptop (Vista)
Router: Cisco Valet M10
Printer:HP Photosmart 3210
The printer is currently wired to the router.

When I'm using the ping command on my Windows 7 system (ADSL WiFi connection) I get pretty strange results. The TTL (Time To Live) values are different for different destinations.
I thought that TTL was set by the system to a default value, isn't it?

Hello,
I have a system using two different LAN cards.
The reason is that the system is connecting to two different IP schemes.
The first Ip is something like 10.0.x.x, being used for our universities local network.
The second IP is something like 192.X.X.X, which is being by me for my wireless internet, configured by the vendor.
Sometimes, it happens that suddenly my system refuse to connect to the internet and while opening my Internet explorer I receive the error that, “internet explorer cannot display the web page”.
When I click on the diagnose connection problem, it says that the dhcp is not enabled etc. etc.
