I have no idea about IPV6 , so still I am using IPV4 . Please give me steps to set IP, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS, alternate DNS etc. and also its benefit.

I have a Netgear router which I want to configure. But when I try to access router using this address,

1. 192.168.1.1, I can not access it. I also reset the router settings and my default IP address for router is 192.168.1.1.

Please I need a solution.

Hello, I am very keen to know  why do I have to type in http : \ before I can bring up any web site ? What does "http" stands for? How it brings any web address to sight?  Looking forward to having satisfactory answer.

I am using LAN Networking in my Personal Computer. But Now I need to do networking of my PC to the other PC for file sharing. It is very important for me. But I cannot do this.

So, how can I network between PC to PC?

My main computer is connected to a router and cable. My second computer is a new Gateway with built in WiFi. When installed the antenna on it, I got internet without having an adapter. I have an embroidery machine than formerly we connected to the second computer with a serial cable. Since the new computer has only USB ports, we cannot do this.  

I want to know about the internet speed on my PC, how it affects my work online and how my PC performs. I came to this local area connection status data, which I don't really know, what all of this data implies? Please expound to me the data presented ; shown below.

I'm using a laptop and its model is "HP Compaq NC 6000".  It does not have WiFi support but is has a wireless connectivity.

I get some wireless network signal, from my home and i configure them myself. The operating system of the laptop is Windows XP service pack 2. When I configure the connection, a notification message comes,  that I have got connected. But when I try to use the same setting in my browser, the browser can't find any connectivity!!

Can any one tell me, what is the probable cause of this problem and can you suggest any way to get connected to the wireless network ? Moreover, those servers are not password protected, so there is no basic problem that I find.

I have Hp ProBook laptop. I connected it with wireless network connection. It shows full strength signals and shows signal strengths is excellent but not run any of internet activity. I checked the wireless network connection which was working on the computers except mine. What are the procedures required to cover up this problem?
