Networking

I am facing a problem on internet connection on my computer while using through My Nokia N72 mobile. Previously it was working very smoothly and I never faced a problem while using the internet.

My problem is that whenever I Tried to open a page with my internet browser, It takes a lot of time and at the end shows the error “timed out”.

So I disconnect the internet and then reconnect to the internet using the same mobile, It starts working. But after browsing few pages it again shows the same error. Every time I have to disconnect & reconnect the internet connection to keep browsing. It’s really irritating and wastes my lot of time.

I have been having a problem with my D-Link wireless router lately. When I tried to diagnose the issue with Windows Network Diagnostics, it shows the following message: Windows tried a repair but a problem still exists.

Windows Network Diagnostics

Cannot communicate with Primary DNS Server (IP REMOVED).

Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not receive a response. Reset the network adapters "Wireless Network Connection" Resetting the adapter can sometimes resolve an intermittent problem.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks.

What is a Wimax network?
What is a WiFi network?
What is a GSM or CDMA network?

First i have to know what are those different type of networks what are the basic definition and difference between them.

I basically understand that in cell phone network mainly GSM and CDMA is used and some Mobile operators supports WiFi technology. But i have no clear idea of how it is done and what are the differences. All those network are wireless and works on signals or frequencies. But not all device supports all type of frequencies that's why mobile and modem are required.

Hi,

My office is using 2 MB ADSL internet connection and there are more than 20 users and less than 50 users at the office. I was wondering whether I can block some websites or not. Although the office already has an internet connection, with speed up to 2 MB, apparently it's not enough and the users always complain that it's very slow.

I happened to find out, that some users open sites such as YouTube and other video streaming and I think that's what makes it very slow, because all the bandwidth went to the streaming sites. I want to block certain websites, without using complicated software or maybe complicated procedures.

Hello,

I'm new in using Virtual Box and wondering, if you guys can help me setting up in Linux. I'm currently using Mandriva for the Linux workstation.

I have downloaded and installed VirtualBox, without a problem in Mandriva. I don't think it would be a problem, if I'm using DHCP. But the problem is, I'm using IP static on the network. So to connect to the internet, I have to setup DNS inside VirtualBox.

I have tried assigning IP static inside the VirtualBox workstation, but it cannot connect to the internet. The internet connection can work properly on the host though. I'm using Mandriva as the host and inside the VirtualBox, I'm using Ubuntu.

I am trying new Xfce RC but there are following issues:

One is printer related other is thunar related.

I am using a USB printer which is connected to NAS box but ADD PRINTER not working when i click on it.

So the question is,

Pl tell the way to access printer?

Second, I want to access Network storage drives but NETWORK is not listed in a tuner device list.

So Question are,

Turner does not have similar default function for accessing network devices?

Thunar also not able to add hard drives when i boot it from USB?

But so far I did not look at whether it is problem related to O.S or Directory tool.

Thanks.

Hello Everyone,

I have a business Centre and my all IT base platform is on Mac. I’ve a Mac OSX Server. It’s a standard 2008 R2 domain. I’ve two partitions, one is server and another is Public. I want to share public with all my colleagues. I popped onto server admin Volume and created a share and attempted to share it via auto mounting, ensuring that I had moved the group students into the permissions, but it won't work. I've tried in different ways but failed to fix it up. Any solution please let me know.

Regards,

Dear All,

I'm working in a AD firm and using CISCO switch for our network. Recently we have purchased Cisco 2960 series switch. I’ve tried myself to assign static IP on switch but failed. For your information we are using Mac address. Is there anyone to instruct me, how can I can assign IP address in Cisco switch?

Regards,

Hossain
