What is a Microsoft account and do I really need this to use it once I've downloaded the Windows 8 Consumer Preview?

I am currently using a Windows 7 Ultimate Operating System, and ever since Windows 8 was out for a consumer preview, I'm very interested to check it out. What are the risks in installing the Windows 8 Consumer Preview?

I heard that amazon updated the firmware for kindle touch, could this be the solution to the problem in turning the gadget horizontally for larger screen view?

I know that Microsoft is used in many computer systems around the world.  I myself have been using it since I can remember.  My question is, if I were to try another OS, what would be out there for me?  Any guys here users of other OS?  Do you like them better than Microsoft OS?  Why? 

Can I install two OS in one system will harm the system? Do I need higher capacity ram to run them?

I tried installing adobe but when it reached 99% it got terminated.

I also tried installing Google earth update but it showed the same error message:

What should I do? My PC flashed a "Windows rootsystem 32hal.dll error message." I tried rebooting and doing safe mode to no avail. Would I be able to recover my files?
