I do have a site under construction and I am hesitant to use php programming compared to java programming.I was more introduced to java but what else can a php do to my site?

My website is an exlcusive knowleged base forum to students and teacher in our school, they will interact in that site, one can send private message, upload pictures and share it  to different users.

Here is the question:

The website has a profile page, what can a php do to let the profile picture be croped in accordance to the desire of the user, can you give me the code for it? and what kind of php programming editor can I use?

I am hoping for a good respones to this matter.

I just started leaning PHP and MySQL and I consider myself a nob on these great languages.

I am building an online DBMS (Database Management System) for our school project. The database contains all the students in the school. And I had realized that it should need PHP pagination because of it contains many member. But I am having difficulty on how to this, I don’t know how to start and how to formulate a logic on this.

I am planning to have 10 pages per page, by number 1-10, then every number must be clickable. and between both side of this number contains a clickable next and previous link tat when clicked it should proceed to the next 10 members and vice versa when previous is clicked.

I am currently building a site that will be functioning the same as PHPmyAdmin.Hopefully. But that's too far to finish.

To everybody here who knows how to retain a value into the form, actually it was pretty easy. But talking about clearing after retaining values for me is super confusing. I got stuck on reset button that doesn't function anymore after the form has been submitted. It was perfect before I click “submit” button. I just don’t understand why HTML reset does not have the power to remove PHP values.

I'm just learning PHP, I made this code that will redirect automatically to index.php every time the session variable is not set or it is being destroyed by logout. I am using header function for this. It worked perfectly on my laptop, but when I had uploaded it on a free web hosting site, every time I run the code, it  will display an error on the very top of the page saying:  "Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/database/admin.php:2) in /home/database/home.php  on line 2  "

I just don't get what it really means, I've been trying to transfer anywhere my code but still, it displays the error above.
What are the possible solutions for this?
