I need some help about merging two files together in Red Hat Linux, any one can help me please.

I have some job to perform that I need to maintain file size, number of line, number of word etc,

So how I count words, line or letter in Linux PC? 

I suppose to read some file everyday to correction for my thesis, the thesis file is not small, it is all about 120 or 160 page.

Every day when I open this file I need to scroll a long time to go down of this file where I suppose to change something, is there any solution to go down on the file in a single command?

When I at workstation in linux system , I have to open many terminal at the same time and I usually forget the user ID which I belong to in current terminal, is there any solution in RHEL Os?

Hi, I am a Linux user but not expert, I created three user account, In graphical user interface when I want to change user identity, I need to logoff first then I can log in by different user id, is there any way that user can login in same terminal in different user ids?
