What is the use of scanners and what is the best resolution for scanning documents? What is dot per inch (DPI) and what is its use?

Hey everyone, I have a daily work of scanning Documents like Receipts, Bills, and Expense Reports. I ditched my old software and now, looking for the Best Free Document Scanning Software.

I just recently bought this scanner. I thought that it is already plug and play device. Can you help me how to install this properly? It is not showing in my desktop or any other devices connected with my computer. What is the use of Acrobat ProX with this device? What are the software that I can link with this scanner? Can you give me instructions on how to do that? Can you suggest more alternative ways on how to resolve my problem with this scanner? Thank you!

I am just new with scanners and with Canon CanoScan 9000F MKII Color Image. I want to ask for your help on how to do this properly. I followed the instructions in the manual and the devices was unsuccessfully installed it is not working. I uninstalled the device and reinstalled it still the same. I’ve been using this scanner for few weeks already. For the months I’ve been using it there’s no problem with it. Few days ago, I noticed that the scanners continuously shows blinking light in its power button. We ignored it, we just thought it is just replenishing. We seldom use this scanner. Recently when I try to scan a document it turned off and on by itself. What could be the reason for this? Can you give us proper ways to resolve this problem?

I just bought this scanner few weeks ago. I was able to use it with no problems for quite few days. I recognized that after I am done with my tasks, the scanner automatically restarts by itself. I ignored it since I am done already with my work. It happened again quite few times after working on my computer. Two days ago, it automatically restarted by itself, while in the middle of my work. What could be causing this problem? Can you provide me options on how to resolve this problem?
