Hello, I currently have 2 sound cards. One on board and one installed. Yesterday, I had no sound at all. I realized that it uses the one that is on board. I tried to disable it from bios and enable the other one. I want to use the one for recording and the other one for gaming. Is it possible to make them work simultaneously? I use Ubuntu 10.10. I have a problem with my DVD player: it does not play videos with surround sound. As an effort to rectify this, I connected it to my Mac which contains surround sound in the Audio/MIDI setup.

I also tested it by using with a Firestudio and a Presonus FP10 sound card. The DVD player still failed to play surround sound. Is it correct to think that the DVD player has no support for surround sound?

If so, does the packaging for the DVD player come with the information? Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Hello, lately I brought a modernized motherboard, CPU and RAM. Because of the cd-room that had bad situations, I am not able to set up the audio / video drive and others that is in the cd room which comes from the motherboard. I decided to download all of them and set up in the company website. The bad situation is when installing the ZD soft screen recorder, it runs only a seconds then and stop the installations and crashed. A notification says ZD soft screen recorder is facing a bad situation and closed the message, the video also manage the record is not working. My previous settings it performed great but now nothings, so bothering on me. I hope that there is somebody could help me, I acknowledge it.

Will it be possible to control and change the settings of the audio volume in my computer’s timeline? I wish to play all the music clips in the same level of volume. But I have to resize the content because there is a long default duration. Can you please help?

Every time I disconnect a speaker from my computer, the sound adjust tool in my desktop and control panel seem to be non-functional.

I experimented a little by adjusting through a radio station application but it does not seem to work.

Can you please give me an explanation as to why I cannot adjust the sounds without the speakers connected to my computer? 

Hi!  I am searching for the best sound card to use when gaming.  I detest using head phones when gaming, so a sound card to support this would be better.  Also, I would like to use this sound card to record my music.  I would also like it to be hassle free during and after installation.  Any advice?

I am using an AMD Athlon 3200, 1GB Ram, Realtek, Firefox 8.0 with a High Definition Audio Card.  Sad to note, however, that the said computer does not recognize the sound card. It seems that the sound card doesn’t exist at all in the said unit. Whenever I search the web, play some audio or video files, there is no audio output. I can’t hear anything even though my speakers are working well. I’ve already tried searching the solution in Google but I cannot find anything that works for me. It’s really very disappointing. I feel crazy about it. Please help me to solve this problem.  Thank you.

I have this old computer that I have used for a couple of years now. It has a problem with the sound. It used windows 98 from the time we got it, and then we installed it with windows 2000.

I installed back the 98 version of windows and it did not recognize the sound card, yet the sound has been working well all the time it came with the computer. 

The sound card Model is Creative Labs CT2230. I have installed its drivers but it’s not working even after I tried to reboot the system. Is there a way that I can be helped because I am certain the sound card is working?

I do not have any sound when playing video on YouTube.

What can I do?

I am using Micro lab speaker.

Till yesterday, they are perfectly fine.

But, from today morning I didn't get any sound from my speakers.
