I am looking for a way to turn my spare internal 3.5 inch hard drive into external ones. I have heard that an enclosure is one way to do this, but I don't know much about them. I am looking for some help with regards to this.

These are the things that I expect the device to do:

1) Support Both IDE and SATA Internal Hard drives 
2) Connect through USB 
3) Support Large Capacity Hard Drives (At Least 1 TB)
4) Works with 3.5 inch internal hard drives

I just wanted to know if there are any performance gains/losses that can be attributed to, holding everything else equal, the number of User shares that are created vs the number of split levels. In other words. If I just had two user shares – Movies and Pictures – but 5 different category trees below, would that result in better/worse or zero difference in terms of performance/access/disk usage/activity, etc.., than if I had 10 user shares that were only 1 or 2 layers deep?

I've recently become aware of these new SSD drives that are just in general very awesome. So, of course I'd like to buy one for my computer setup. However, I'm wondering if there is a way I can transfer my C disk to this new SSD instead of having to install a new Windows to get it to work.

I tried looking around on Google to find out if someone had asked a similar question, but I didn't have any luck with that.

So, I thought I'd try getting an answer from you.

 I caught this error 0x7A. I have never seen it but when I tried to look for it, it was defined on the list. However, it was skipped (obviously on purpose). And I wonder what does this mean? Here's my code below:

I had a pen drive and my brother borrowed it. He told me that he accidentally deleted the attorney. info inside the drive. When he tried to open it again, error message saying , "G: Application not found.".

Is there any way we can download the autorun. Inf? And by the way, can I still retrieve my important files inside that drive?

I wanted to reformat my computer, but I have a problem with my boot devices. I tried to change the first boot priority into CD/DVD and the second boot into HDD. The problem is, the boot devices are not working, thus, it cannot reformat my computer.

What would be the other solution for this?

I have an external hard disk called "Passport ". But every time I try to connect it in my laptop, I can't access it although it is being detected. I mean, the icon for a new device is displayed, but when I opened a new window, I can't 'see it anymore.  Also, the software can't be installed in my laptop every time I connect it.

How do i deal with this?

I have a Micro SD card of 8 GB. It has a lot of content which I had stored there. It was about 4 GB. But now it has started giving error messages saying the memory is full. In addition, most of the files are now having "a question mark" instead of the real file icon. When I tried to open it, it tells me that the format is not supported. I am doing all these on my phone. What should I do to avoid losing more data.

Are these problems repairable?

I got a Lacie 250 GB external hard drive (with two partitions). But I think, I disconnected it from my iBook without ejecting the drives first. After doing so, I can't copy files into any of the two partitions anymore. When I tried to do so, I got this error message:

"the finder could not complete the operation because some data in X could not be read or written. (error code -36)"

There's no problem with the file, as I can copy it to the other partition on the same external hard drive. So, I used disk utility (OS x 10.4.11) and repaired both drives. Disk utility did its thing and repaired the partition which had a problem. But, I'm still getting an error -36.

Can anyone suggest something else to try?

I've just got my Pogoplug Pro and attached my LaCie Rugged 500gb drive. After downloading the MAC software, I opened the Pogoplug icon on my desktop and instead of seeing my drive, I saw a broken alias file named 'LaCie Rugged FW/USB'. When I clicked the broken alias file, I got the error '(error code -43)' and another error saying 'the application cannot be found'.

What should I do with this?
