Storage

Hi,

I just bought an 8 GB pen drive from Transcend. But I wonder why, whenever I  try to copy a very large file (about 2GB, DVD quality movie), it doesn’t allow me to copy it.

How do I copy large videos?

I just built my machine past few months and everything works fine. See my specs below pls.

Asus A8N-SLI

Athlon 64 x2 dual core 3800
Radeon x1800
1 GB RAM

Teac DW-224E DVD Drive

One day, I used the computer drive with disk on it, but it stopped from reading. So I checked out the drive in Computer but no worries because the icon is there, only if I opened it, the drive is empty. I tried to download new firmware and checked all the connections, but still the issue is there. I also tried replacing a Samsung drive and it didn't help! So I tried again to place my Teac and flash the BIOS, still it's not working!

I have a device called SATA RAID and it has been working fine barely two days ago. But then, when I tried to access the partition, it says that it is inaccessible. I've installed some partition recovery software programs to check if the entire file was there. I think it's not a physical problem because the rest of the local drives are working fine. I'm not really sure why it suddenly became inaccessible.

It will be helpful if anybody knows of a program that I can install into Win XP, so that I can recover that partition.

I am backing up my Mac Pro to a backup server (a Power PC G4). Both are running OS X 10.5.4. The version of Retrospect is 6.1.23 and the client is 6.2.222. The backup server says that the client is "responding,",  but I continue to get the "Waiting for backup media" message over the past 24 hours. There is a lock icon on the drive that I want to back up.

Hi all,

We have RAC installed on 2 T2000 machines. Solaris 10, patched IPMP for failover on all interfaces, NetApp NFS for data file, voting disk, etc. Oracle installation, binaries, etc. are on local disks.

All configurations were according to Oracle/NetApp docs. And there were no issues during installation. When we try to create the db using dbca, the process hangs during data dictionary creation. There is only one error message "Warning: aiowait timed out x times". All the NFS partitions are mounted force direction, and we have tried to disabled in Oracle.

I have a 8G kingmax microsdhc which I used for a week on my cell phone. I stored files and images in my mp3, then there came a time when I took off the microsd from the cell phone and placed it on the adapter and stuck it on my laptop.

I tried to open it but it won't follow the command. It says something about, not being formatted. So it asked me to format it. Even though I knew that I may lost all files, I followed the instruction to format it. I was surprised when something popped up and said that Windows cannot continue formatting the device. I tried using it on my cell phone but I can't access it anymore.

I have a Compaq mini 110 with Windows XP installed. I accidentally compressed the hard drive when I was trying to get some free space, so XP didn't start anymore.

I'm trying to do the Disaster Recovery based on the instructions in my manual. I've created the Disaster Recovery boot program (SP42226.exe) for my USB memory stick and it starts the Roxie BackOnTrack program. But the problem is, it asks for a "Restore Set" (*.SIB_DR) and I can't find files anywhere. Should I create this file when the OS was working and back it up to an external drive, or can I find this restore set somewhere, and perhaps create one with another PC? What folder would those Roxie backontrack sib_dr files be located?

I have Windows 7 OS running on my PC. Everything works fine except in the visibility of REMOVABLE DRIVE. I once tried it, when I uploaded some files from my Memory SD Reader and it all works fine. But the next day, when I was about to upload my pictures again, I can’t see the drive in “My Computer” anymore.

I restarted the PC just to try if it works, but it’s all the same. I was surprised because I can see the USB icon in the notification tray saying “Safely Remove Hardware”, but I don’t see it in "My Computer". I also tried adding letter and path, but the same problem occurs. Then, I decided to reformat my OS, and yes, finally it works “at first”, then it never worked again.

Hello,

I have a habit of listening to songs in my mp3 player, every time I am traveling outside. Everything was working just fine. Last night, I plugged my mp3 into my laptop to download some new songs. But, my PC was notifying me that the “USB device is not recognized”. Then, I tried to plug it in other USB ports but it still failed to work. Then, I reinstalled the USB driver on my PC. Again I got a failure. I don’t know why it is happening.

Moreover, the entire play lists in my mp3 player vanished, after trying to connect it again and again. It’s a very bad thing for me. What should I do know? Can anybody help me?

Thank you

I have lost important data from my laptop's hard drive. I tried to use data recovery software, but I was unable to restore them. I need the right solution. I am 100% sure that my hard disk is working fine, but I accidentally formatted one of the partitions of my hard drive. I checked the recycle bin, but my data was not there.

What should I do?
