Ubuntu Linux
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 on my PC.
I love its graphics and customization. But recently I have faced some weird problem.
My default browser is Firefox.
Now when I browse using Firefox pages load very slowly and it takes forever to open only Google.
Is there any connection error or what.
It will be a great help if someone answers my question.

Hey Guys,
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 from 9.10. I have all the codecs I need for that version. But I have no codecs for V11.04. I need it very much. I can't play any of my videos. It says, I have to install some codecs. So, it will be a great pleasure for me, if anyone helps me by giving the downloadable link of the codecs.
Thank you.

Hello all,
Today when I start my pc, I got the following error.
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings
may not work correctly.
The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
The last error message was:
Failed to execute /usr/libexec/gnomre-settings-daemon: 27 (File too large)
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
I am using Ubuntu 7.04 version, and my computer is Pentium III 933 MHz and 512 MB of RAM.

Hello,
I just got a new Dell Inspiron laptop, with no Operating System installed in it. I was planning to install both Linux and Windows in it and I already prepared a partition for both Linux and Windows.
At first I installed Ubuntu Linux and there's no glitch whatsoever, with the installation. I've checked, all the devices can be recognized and no unknown hardware.
The second step would be installing Windows XP. The problem occurs when my laptop restarts. It goes directly to Windows XP. There's no menu to select which operating system to choose and inside Windows XP also all the devices are recognized perfectly too.

Hello,
I am getting this error, while trying to integrate my Ubuntu systems to windows domain:
Lsass Error
1225 (0x4C9) ERROR_CONNECTION_REFUSED – Unknown error
It's giving me too much headaches on how to get it working. Also, is this really possible? Has been trying to Google it and could not find anything that works. I'm still new to using Ubuntu systems, but I will do whatever it takes to fix this.
I am not really familiar with what I am doing, but this is the job that was assigned to me. I tried deleting lsass-adcache.db, but that didn't eliminate the error.
Any help is so much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi There,
I'm using HP 2540p laptop with Windows 7 Professional installed in it. I've encrypted the HDD using an encryption software called Pointsec from Check Point. If I'm not mistaken, something happened with my laptop the HDD cannot be removed from the laptop.
The problem is the I cannot enter Windows 7 and always stuck at the beginning. It gave me error message: Pointsec can not load program. I still can access the bios, but cannot access windows. I was planning to retrieve the data using Ubuntu Live. So after I downloaded the iso file from Ubuntu site and burn it to CD, I tried booting from the CD and it works perfectly. Unfortunately I can't find the HDD in the list.

Hi,
I am a windows novice, its not that i am slow to learn or something but it is because i find windows too simple to use and belong to the douche. Since it autoruns everything that it detects and currently caused my computer to freeze severally, due to spam and viruses .This has made me totally divorce the windows thing and since i'm a linux professional i have decided to divorce windows operating system completely.

Hi
I have recently upgraded my Ubuntu desktop to unity. But the look and feel in not of my type, seriously. The desktop workspace switching is, good kids eye candy but not pleasing my old eyes. How do I remove this animation and just get a simple quick switch.
