How do I respond to this prompt? What will I do if the macros contain viruses?

I reinstalled my windows due to a recent hardware crash and after installation I tried to install AVG antivirus but the installation automatically exits without an error or something else. Same is the case of other antivirus softwares. I know it is due to some spyware or malware but please submit me solution as I cannot find it anywhere else.

I recently upgraded my pc and reinstalled windows XP. I then installed AVG free edition antivirus software and during the installation my electricity went off due to some reason. So I restarted my pc and on boot it says that AVG failed to install and pc is a little slow as if there is antivirus installed. So tried to reinstall the antivirus but it gives some long error during installation. I tried to uninstall from control panel but there is not any entry of AVG antivirus. Please help me as I have installed Avast and my pc is running very slow due to two antiviruses.

I am trying to uninstall unnecessary programs on my computer because it is no longer responding as fast as it used to. When I go to All Programs, I see this item there that says XPS Viewer. I want to just uninstall it because I don't think I have ever used it but I am afraid that it could be useful in the future. I don't even know what it does. Could somebody please enlighten me? Thanks.

Which is a better free antivirus? I heard that AVG is the preferred one but I would love to hear from someone who really has knowledge about these stuffs. I just got a new Lenovo laptop and I don’t know what antivirus I will be using.

Hi guys I use AVG 2011 in my Computer. I have on several occasions noticed that it is the main cause of slow performance of my computer. I tried uninstalling it but it has since refused to quit. Is there anyone with an Idea on how to go about this situation?

I get several spam emails I don’t Know where they come from or how they even get sent to my email. Some contain viruses to be downloaded yet others are just plain texts. I have on several occasions unsubscribed to the sites that send them yet I still receive them. How can I completely ensure that such mails don’t  even get through to my mail.

I right clicked on mcafee icon and clicked on update now, even if I am connected its not updating. After a minute or so i get a dialog box which says updates were not applied because packages were not in the repository. I can download and install the offline update but why I cant update automatically?

I have noticed that my computer is acting weird lately.

I wanted to see my hidden file that I put on my desk but when I apply "Show hidden files, folder and drives"  nothing appears. 

I'm quite sure that I have a hidden file on my desktop so it's really weird why I cannot see that file.

Is my computer got infected with a virus? 

Done applying this but I can't still see my hidden file.
