Hi! My computer runs and boots very slowly now a days. I called the technician and he said it could be a virus problem. I see there are a lot of classifications in viruses.

He said he could not track the virus so he preferred the computer to be formatted. Isn't there anyway to speed up my PC without having to format.

How do you configure the windows firewall especially using group policies?

As far as I know it is the quickest method.

A firewall is a device or set of devices designed to permit or deny network transmissions based upon a set of rules and is frequently used to protect networks from unauthorized access while permitting legitimate communications to pass.

But it does not serve the above definition.

While I am  at home doing  interior designing work, I noticed my computer is slowing down and sometimes I experience hang-ups. I suspected that my computer is attacked by a virus, so I used Microsoft Defender to scan my computer for some virus.

When I am in the middle of scanning my computer  an error message appeared that tells me that service has stopped.

On an updated XP SP3 with Avira free and online Armor Premium, I get the error code 703(0,7). After MBAM is installed and I either choose, update and start, update or do nothing and then manually update. I get the same error code both with Avira Guard enabled and disabled.

I've also tried setting online Armor in both learning mode and using the trust/ install pop-up options. Also, after each try, I've rebooted and used mbamclean.exe.Still, no luck. Any idea what might be the cause or solution, because I'm stuck.
