Virus & Spyware
Hi!
Several days ago I opened a link from the internet and my IDM ( Internet Download Manager ) showed up with confirmation to download a PDF file. I thought it's only a PDF file and what's the harm that could happen. After the download was finished I tried to open the file but it was taking a long time to open the file and in the end it failed and there was an error message 'The system has detected a problem with one or more installed IDE/SATA Hard disks. It is recommended that you restart the system'
Suddenly there's a pop up from Windows 7 Restore with error report :

I think my computer is infected with malware or a virus that I cannot define. This happens after downloading Adobe Flash Player Update which I think is a legit version from Adobe itself, by the look, you really can't tell that this is some sort of a virus. After downloading the update, my computer shuts down and I could not open it to my windows again.
I open it again, and I can just reach until the Windows XP loading window. After that it restarted again then an error appears that my windows failed to start. I hit the F8 key upon restarting then boot to safe mode then uninstall that Adobe fake update. But seems like the virus spread to my windows and i could not open it normally again.

Spools.exe is a virus or not?
I was fixing my sister's computer and when it opened up and something popped up and it is spools.exe but its not responding. So I clicked Ok button in order to remove it from my screen because I was trying to fix something and going to play later.
When its gone I did what I have to do but after 15 minutes of using, it pops up again. I don't know what to do anymore. The Antivirus cannot detect even removed it permanently from the computer.
I'm so clueless on how to remove the spools.exe from my sister's computer. Please help me to remove it?

How will I remove the virus on computer?
I was using my computer then suddenly a virus popped up on my screen. It says that my computer has detected a virus and it's a harmful one. I'm trying to close it but it always comes up. I restarted my computer to see if it's going to remove and then after I restarted it, I waited for about 15 minutes before I started what I was going to do. After that it comes out again.
My Antivirus is Avira and it strongly detects the viruses but it depends on the virus and on how harmful it is before it can be cleaned or deleted from my computer.
What should I do now? How will I remove the virus?

I do not understand why this happened after I updated my version of ‘Windows Vista Home Premium’. Windows Defender ‘ was preloaded on the operating system and I could not uninstall it.
Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused this program’s service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support for how to start a service manually.

The amount of spam emails I'm getting on my outlook is very alarming. I've been using Bitdefender for a couple of months now and it was working perfectly. Recently, it acted as if it didn't filter some of my spam emails. I am very impatient when it comes to deleting spam. I tried adding the sender of the missed spam on the spammers list but I am still consistently getting tons of spam emails. So I tried clearing the database as advised on another forum. So far, I got no success in fixing my problem.
If someone knows how to deal with this feel free to post your solutions.

Is the free version of Antivirus reliable or not?
I installed a free version of Avast Antivirus scanner for my laptop. I prefer using the free version as it doesn’t cost any money. I’ve been using my Antivirus for the past few weeks and it seemed that everything is going fine. It detects incoming virus/worm threat s and blocks suspected Malware. Every week I always perform a full scan of my system and a few viruses are detected. So far my system is free from viruses.
