Windows 2008
Our 2008 AD network runs 200 Windows 7 machines and I’m wondering, which maintenance tasks are appropriate for these machines? Disk scan, defragment, etc.?

How do you set up a proxy server in Windows Server 2008? We need it to monitor employees. Any recommendations on the settings?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Mate,
I have a windows 2008 Domain controller and the below error is on that system.
Process ExSetupUI.exe (PID=4216). An remote procedure call (RPC) request to the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service failed with error 1753 (Error 6d9 from HrGetServersForRole). Make sure that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running. In addition, make sure that the network ports that are used by RPC are not blocked by a firewall.
Thank you all

I am using the 64 bit Standard Windows Server 2008. I am facing a problem with the view of ‘Event Viewer’.
When I am clicking on Event Viewer’ an error message is getting which says that ‘the event log service is not available’.
I have confirmed that the service is running properly. Also when I click on start in Windows Event log it also gave me an error message which says ‘the Windows Event Log service cannot be started’.
The instance name which had passed is not recognizing as valid by the ‘WMI’ data provider. Even the troubleshooting could not solve the problem.
It will be great if anybody can help me to solve this problem.

I am getting trouble with my virtual machine. My Server is Windows 2008 R2. I wonder what is taking up my hard disk time. Does anybody know how to find this thing out? I checked my Task Manager and it looks like it is only giving some to my CPU but my memory has been into some kind of process which I don’t understand. When I tried my Performance Manager, it showed me some useless graphs that I found not so useful to me. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Hello, I have some problems with my data partition. Here are the details: I have Windows 2008 Data Center Edition which I have downloaded through the internet. It has 10TB space allocation. I have 5 partitions with 2TB spaces for each. After allocating those spaces for each partition, I wanted to apply the remaining unallocated space to my primary NTFS drive C: but I cannot do it. I got an error when I attempted to expand my volume. I have searched for online solutions but I didn’t get any trusted solution. I saw I am not alone. There are also a lot of people experiencing the same kind of problem. Please tell me what did you guys do with this?

Hello! I have a little problem installing Windows Server 2008. I tried installing it unattended using unattend.xml. I did this on a virtual machine that has three drives—C:, D:, and E:–partitions I created using DiskPart before actually clicking setup.exe. The problem is once I start the installation, I get this error message saying “Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information.” I have no idea what’s going on and I am hoping you could help me. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.
