This site is great. I've got an answer for my previous question. This is another problem; I have some other problems also.

I have a .net 2008 desktop application that I would like to be able to coordinate access rights per user by taking information from windows authentication and tying that information to the active directory.

Basically I would like to take the username from windows authentication and pass that information to the active directory so I can determine what groups the user has access to.

Our default domain policy contains a list of trusted sites for the whole company. But there is a one site we want to remove for only specified group of user's I have tried creating another policy at the OU level that one site but when i enforce it locks out the user's ability to add their own sites, we want them to still be able to do that.

I'm confusing and please read this also i managed to remove site from one account when enforcing the second policy.

But when i unlinked the policy to get the site back, the site stays removed, no matter which system i log on with that account, or if i wipe the profile.

Why is the site staying removed.

How can i get it back (without re creating the account obviously)

I have been trying to install SQL server 2008 Developer edition on my Windows Server and I get an error message. I already have installed it on other machine with the same CD and that works. Just on this Windows 2008 server it comes up with an error message

I see that the machine already is installed with .NET 3.5.1 framework, but somehow it is not being recognized.

Hi all,

I have installed a Windows Server 2008 on my HPProL server. I have built a test environment. I have installed ADDS and other necessary services. I'm running a test Windows 7 client. The network has no errors (I have checked the configurations). However,  when I try to create a file inside a Shared Folder I am unable to do so. Even as a domain admin I cannot create them. I have setup NTFS permissions too. But still I cannot create files inside a shared folder.

Is there a permission problem?

I have installed Windows Server 2008 in my brand new server (HP, Quad Core). The installation was successful. I also installed SP1 after the new installation. When I launch the SP1 update, installation fails with error 0x800f0818 during the process. 

When I checked the log in c:windowslogsCBS, I found the CBS.log, with the following errors :

Failed to internally open package. [HRESULT = 0x800f0818 – CBS_E_IDENTITY_MISMATCH]
