Well I've done some research on the internet about this article but I found no answers. I have installed windows vista operating system recently on my dell laptop windows XP based. Installing vista made no problem at all, but when I tried installing my drivers I failed. I asked Microsoft about that problem and they answered me that there is a compatibility mode so you can run setup based on a previous version of windows, but it wasn't true.

I am using Windows 7 home premium for a while and from the beginning I'm experiencing a problem with the ad-hoc peer to peer or computer to computer wireless networks (able to share internet). The problem is that when everything is set up to automatically obtain IP and DNS servers the computer registers on the network but without network access and of course without internet access too, after that I set up my IP manually and everything is ok, but the next day manually written addresses won't work and it successfully obtains an IP address. Is it a bug in the windows 7 home premium edition or there is a bug in my laptop wireless card ??

I have an Acer netbook, and have had it for a few months now. I use it for schoolwork as well as some downloading of music. It has worked great until recently. I only connect to the internet via wireless router, never through an ethernet cable. Lately, anytime that I connect via wireless, after about 5 minutes, the entire netbook freezes up. Windows OS freezes. Absolutely everything. I end up having to do a cold shutdown and then restart it. However, if the wireless is turned off, it works fine.
Any assistance would be great.
Thank you.

Hello,
I need help in resolving this issue. I am using the windows 7 operating system on my laptop.
One afternoon when I started the laptop. I started receiving the error message on every folder I click on my computer or the menu on the start menu. This error is also popping up when I click on the C, D or E drive on the my computer explorer. The error is something like this:
“This file does not have any program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel”.

Last night, I was surfing the internet on my laptop but when I woke up this morning, I could not connect to the internet. I am using the main computer as we speak. I called my friend and he told me to check the IP address first. I think he's busy, he hangs up immediately. I didn't get what he meant. Can someone help me check the IP address on a Win7?

Someone could have probably tampered with my Laptop because I noticed that I can no longer reset permission settings.
As I don't know who to asked for the restrictions I thought there might be some ways to bypass that other than reinstalling the OS. Would you please be of help?
Thank you very much.
Windows Security
You do not have permission to view the current permission settings for Properties, but you can make permission changes.

Okay, so previously I have windows Vista and since my laptop was too old I thought that I should remove some programs and delete some files.
However, a friend of mine suggested that I should also clean up my Registry Fix.
So, I deleted some items which are connected to the programs which I deleted because I thought these are useless.
However, when I was about to change and reformat my laptop to Windows 7, I deleted the windows vista service pack so my registry fix is all empty. What should I do to fix my regedit?
