Windows 7

Windows 7

I am using window 8, and for my college project I need to create a server on localhost which will be accessed over a LAN. After searching for two hours I didn’t find a solution to my problem. Please guide me in hosting a local server for window 7.
Also recommend me any open source software for this, if available.

I installed window 7 on my Compaq laptop yesterday, using custom install option, which deleted all my files in c drive. Some of the deleted files contained useful information. Please help me in getting those deleted files back. There are many software available on the internet, please suggest which one to use.

My computer runs on Windows 7 64bit on an SSD drive. I bought another laptop and it has Windows 8.1 installed on it and I noticed that it has quick boot and shut down. I wonder, if I upgrade Win 7 to Win 8.1, will it also has a quick boot facility? Does upgrading to 8.1 require hardware upgrades too?

Hi,

I am using a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop with Windows 7. Recently I bought Dell 1800MP projector and it was working simply great.

Last week I upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8. From that time onwards it is not able to connect to the projector. I thought it was a problem with drivers and hence downloaded the latest one for my projector but no luck.

Is there a compatibility issue? How can I check whether the projector is compatible with Windows 8 PC or not? Please help me out here guys. Thanks a lot in advance!

I have Aspire One AO751h laptop with Windows 7 operating system in it.

It was getting stuck frequently so I thought it might be because of the DVD drive as it was making some noise. But, even after that it is still freezing all of sudden and I got to reboot the system. Just after reboot it is working fine for 2 to 3 hours of active use. If I am not using then it is not getting freeze.

Is this a problem with virus? Can I check anything from task manager to figure out what is causing the issue?

Hi,

Recently I bought Sony Vaio Z Series as I love all Sony products a lot and Windows 7. But the main problem is that it is suddenly shutting down without giving any warning message. Sometimes it is shutting down after 20-30 minutes and sometimes taking more than 30 minutes. I tried to fix this problem like without using battery, plugging it to adapter. But no use. Today when I opened it, booting took less time, but after that it was suddenly shut down. Afterwards, I reformatted my computer, but again same issue. Can someone assist me ?

Thanks!

Hi everybody,

I am using windows 8 on my desktop. I am facing a strange issue with YouTube in any browser. YouTube video plays for 1 second and then throwing an error message and getting stopped. If I play any playlist it is playing just 1 second for each video. I have uninstalled Mozilla Firefox, but no use. I have also uninstalled flash, Shockwave and other unwanted software. None of these resolved my issue. Can somebody please advise me how to resolve this?

Thanks!

I put my Lenovo X220 in hibernation, unplugged the power adapter and did not power it back on the whole day. When I went back the next day, I realized it turned off since it didn't have the adapter plugged in, so I pressed the power button and the computer immediately went to the screen where I left it the day before. I'm curious as to what happened. Why did it go directly to the same page where I left the day before when it was not plugged into the power adapter and there was no battery installed as well?

My computer with a Windows 7 OS, has been acting up on me lately. It's supposed to shut down quickly, but now, the Shutting down screen stays for several minutes. I read that it's caused by a page file and I can fix it by editing the registry. I'm not sure if it should do that. What are your recommendations?

Hello there,

I have updated my Windows 7 (x86) and I have this error when I want to open a file, close one or simply when the program is open. I don’t want to reinstall the program because I don’t have the CD anymore so is there any other way to fix this ? What is causing this ?

Thank you !
