I am receiving error on Windows Vista stating that:

There is problem with this window installer package.

A program required for this install to complete could be run.

Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

How can I resolve it?

I’m really having a hard time with my Lenovo desktop that has Windows Vista installed on it. Every time the pc starts it keeps giving me the F1 or F2 set up option; I follow the options given and it will just exit without saving the changes. Can you please help me to fix this?

Anytime I want to place a toolbar on the left side of the taskbar, next to the start button, and then lock the taskbar, a small piece of a link within the toolbar will still show, so it will not shrink completely. The Lock the taskbar! Option is unchecked when I do this. The only solution I found was to use the handles and make it as small as possible. This only happens in Windows Vista and Windows 7, while in XP it works fine. Does anyone know a solution to get rid of this problem?

Opening (instead of saving) a file from e-mail or a website works fine on my PC which is running on XP. When I do the same on my Vista laptop, it says that the file has gone to a temporary folder, but when I perform a search, it’s not there. I also tried saving the file to My Documents and the Desktop, but it doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong?

For unknown reasons, Vista is giving me hard time on using my computer. My computer automatically and repeatedly shut down itself while I’m using it. I did everything I can to solve this problem. I even try to ask help from over-the-phone help by Answers Gateway. They actually told me to reinstall Vista.

But unfortunately, it didn’t work. Instead, it reinstalls Vista to another drive D. After paying the cost of that over-the-phone help, the problem on my computer has gotten to worst. My computer doesn’t want to boot up already. It reaches the black screen and restarts itself multiple times.

I have tried to download from 4n sm site but it seems that my computer is affected, it hangs.

Please forward me safe wall papers or even sites which caters wallpapers for windows vista. 

My vista home premium has a memory of x4 9650 2.3 GHz a Vega 9500gt, and 8 GB of ram.

When I am using it,it’s very slow specially in games and daily use.

Which upgrade can I do to improve its speed? Or is there something wrong from Its OS?

Our Toshiba has an OS Vista. It has document files and all files have green folders in the Library. Under the documents, there is another Manila folder named Documents. Under the green folder named Documents, if we try to delete the extra folders, all the other folders would be deleted too. Why does this thing happen? We have also a Sony and a Dell that has OS Windows 7. We do not experience the same problem with these computers. Why is it that the Toshiba unit is different, that when you delete the extra folder that has the same files, nothing would be retained and instead, everything would be deleted? Please give me some explanation and solution to this problem. Thank you.

I am selling my old computer as I have recently as I have recently upgraded but I'm concerned
someone could still find my personal data on it. I did almost all of my banking online and also kept a lot of tax records on my hard drive.  What's the best way to ensure that my data is really gone? Is this something I can do myself or should I take it in to a computer shop?

I was at my computer  and everything was running fine.

I downloaded something my brother sent me over email and my whole computer locked up. It gave me a funny error code.

I turned it off right away.  

Is it fried or can I turn it back on?

I know we have some sort of program called Norton on it so it's not supposed to get viruses. 

If it helps, I have vista.
