I have tried to create a folder, with the name "con" in Windows XP. But I can't create it. When I create the folder and rename it as "con", the folder name just disappears and turns it to default name, "new folder”, after clicking on it. I don’t know what is happening. 

Any experts please answer.

Hi friends,

It is really annoying when the security alerts icon in the icon tray displays security messages.

More annoying when playing a game, the security alerts message shows in the game, and when I accidentally click the message it takes me back to windows (like alt-tabbing).

How can I get rid of that annoying thing?

How you get into Windows Safe Mode?

If you cannot boot into normal Windows mode or cannot troubleshoot because of errors in normal mode boot into Safe Mode.

Windows Safe Mode bypasses startup programs and drivers that are not required for Windows to load and will allow you to fix Windows problems.

Please explain.

My computer is pretty old now, about 4 years old, and every time the OS gets corrupted or when it is infected with viruses, I just reinstall the OS again. Some say I should reformat completely before installing another OS, but I have lots of important documents, and pictures on my hard disk and transferring them to the 2nd partition is pointless because of space issues.

Every time windows installation is done, I can see a selection of different OS that have been collected in my PC.

There are 4 of them now.

How can I remove the other ones?

Is it possible?

I am using windows installer 4.5, which is very recent by the way and am running it on windows XP Pro SP3.

Recently I tried to install Microsoft Visual studio 2008 and it gives me the following error,

Windows Installer

The Windows Installer Services could not be accessed.

This can occur if you are running Windows in safe

mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly

installed. Contact your support personnel for

assistance.

My task yesterday was to install a our new application to all 10 computers at the office. This application requires windows home service pack 3, so I downloaded the file and installed it successfully.  

When I was about to install the new application, I meet an error that said, the internal error, I pasted below.

Error Z0001: Internal error

On my analysis, it is not the new application installer that went wrong, since I already done installing it to five computers.

So I restarted the computer because, I have not restarted it since I installed the service pack 3.

When I was doing my research work at home, I was struck by the many virus alerts of my anti virus software. So I decided to stop working and do some complete virus scan of my computer, but on its way in scanning a power interruption happened.

So when power was back, I started my computer, normally it will pass by safe mode since it is not shutdown properly.

After I restarted the computer from the safe mode, It was now booted normally. when windows started this error message came about.
