Windows XP
I make an update with my XP machine and install a service pack 2.
After a successful update installation reboots my computer. When my team was the shift of noticed that my windows firewall is running.
I try to switch on, but I get this message "due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display the Windows Firewall settings' .
I read in a forum that the cause of this error is due to missing or damaged shared access registry key, which represents the Windows Firewall service.
Try to find a solution there.
Download shared access.reg and save to the desktop, double-click on the combination of file the contents of the registry and restart the computer.

Hi Techy,
I am having a hard time reinstating my wallpaper every now and then. Our desktop computer’s operating system is a Windows XP.
I am not sure if the desktop brand or model is important or needed in my problem, but just in case, it is an HP 5750. My older brother is gay, and I am not ashamed to tell that.
However, whenever he changes the desktop’s wallpaper, it affects mine. So, once I logged in, I am seeing his preferred wallpaper.
Are there settings I need to change for me not to be able to get his wallpaper on my profile?
Please feel free to raise any suggestions, I will definitely try them.

I freeze after the operating system set up was done but the message appeared on the screen
Error loading operating system_
These are the steps I did;
- BIOS SETUP
- Boot Devices
- created partition in drive c: and drive d:
After the set up been loaded that message appeared My next move was to reinstall again the operating system but the error still occurred. I'd check again the BIOS set up and place the boot devices by its proper places.

Hi,
I was about to perform an Error-Checking on my hard disk Drive C: I go to Local Disk Properties then click on the Tools tab and choose Error-checking. I choose the automatically fix system errors and the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. Then an alert box appeared instantly and say's, I could not perform disk checking because it needs exclusive access to some Windows file on the disk.

I started up my computer this morning and it did not boot. I get an error on a black screen saying that Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing or corrupt. I tried booting my computer based on last known configuration and also in safe mode but it just does not start up. It keeps giving me the same error message. I wanted to attempt a repair installation but unfortunately i do not have an installation disk. I have a lot of important information on my hard drive and cannot permit losing my data or having my hard drive reformatted during a clean installation. Is there anyway I can repair my operating system without doing a clean installation? I have Windows XP Home Edition installed on my laptop.

It's been a long time since I last made a defragmentation of my computer. I decided to run this defragmentation since I only have few spaces left on my hard disk. I opened the Drive C: then right click it to go to its properties then on the tools tab, I choose Defragment Now, but when I hit the start defragment an alert box says;
Disk Defragmenter could not start.
I restarted my computer then start the defragmenter again and again; another error came up on my screen
Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume (C:)

Hello buddies,
I have a Pentium 4 pc. I have been using this PC for the last four years. I use a 80 gigabyte Samsung Hard disk in it from the time of beginning. There were eight partitions in it. I mean to say that there were eight Drives in it.
I have been facing a lot of problems with the huge drives. Especially at the time of coping a big file such as- movie, my projects, etc I get drive disk space problem. That why I wanted to break the recent partition and make two new partitions.
Just C and D. But the main problem arises when I try to delete these partitions. When I go to the Disk Management from the Computer management window, I right click on a drive and hit on the Delete Logical Drive.
