Windows XP
I am running on Windows XP Service Pack (II). My mouse has developed a series of problems. The cursor does not move and when i start up the computer i get this message.
"PS2 Mouse Initialization Failure".
This message is displayed at POST.
I can’t right click on the computer, leaving me with the option of using tab key to jump between options and to select items.
Sometimes the cursor will move for a couple of seconds before freezing, sometimes it does not make a move at all.
I have checked in the device manager; My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager.

My windows XP crashed and now it will not go beyond the desktop background. Last I remember I shut down my computer perfectly but when the next morning I restarted it the windows won’t even start up I mean it shows the login area and I login to it but after that the mouse shows the working icon and my taskbar and my icons on the desktop won’t show up.
I will use system restore but I don’t know how to access that with my computer in this state. Is there any way to correct this without losing my data?

I installed two different versions of Windows XP on my hard drive, Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional, but due to lack of enough space, and my computer is showing slow performance since I only have 1 GB of RAM and 250 GB on my hard disk plus a hundred of applications installed on it, I decided to delete one OS from the same HD.
I formatted the drive where my partition of Home edition is installed. It deletes all the content of the drive D. Normally when you have a dual boot OS, After the POST, it will ask you to choose from which OS you will use, But after formatting Home Edition, I can still see the two OS choices after a startup.
