Message:"Internal Error 2889" in Windows XP appears even in putting some sort of Software package like Symantec Malware or Microsoft Office throughout Windows XP

What's wrong here and how do I correct it?

I want to install DirectX 9c on my computer. To do that I needed to uninstall the previous version running on my windows XP.

But there is no Uninstaller for this but I found the registry for DirectX under (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE…SOFTWARE…Microsoft…DirectX) and I removed the entry from by running regedit.

But now I get this error saying “An internal error occurred” and the installation fails each time I try to install DirectX 9c using the web installer available on the Microsoft website.

What should I do??

I was using VMWare version 2 for mac and it worked just fine but I thought that VMWare version 3 would be faster and will have better memory manager. So, I uninstalled the previous version and purchased the upgraded version. But when I tried to install the upgrade it just fails saying that there were errors with the installation. I tried to look into the log file and messages in there are very confusing. I need to install this thing to continue my work which I do using Windows XP.

My problem is that when the computer boots up to the login screen, I get an error message.

I am using Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3.  Everything was working perfectly before until recently.  During the last two bootups, I got the following error message.  I have added an image but the image is too little, and you might not read it properly.  It says:

Hi all,

Whenever I boot my laptop I found two Bad Image errors continuously but always at boot up I get: 

C:Windowssystem32atiumdva.dll

And I also get a:

Failed to load CommonRes.dll at boot.

I’ve recently cleared a malware infestation and still having problems with the OS. When I try to run an update into Service Pack 2; then the installation times out. 

Need your help.
