What were any bugs present in the Windows 8 version which existed during the Introduction stage? Is this a cause for concern for other users?

My VLC media player Windows 8 is not playing any videos since I installed it. I can only hear the sound, that’s all. Please someone give me a fix for this as it is urgent. Thank you.
