20 nm and 14 nm processors for notebook

I heard that processors for laptops and notebooks are getting smaller chips. The chips are getting smaller but their work efficiency is increasing. When are we gonna see 20 nm and 14 nm chips for laptops and notebooks ?

20 nm and 14 nm processors for notebook

 

 

Samsung Electronics, one of the world’s biggest chipmaker has recently announced that it has started work on it’s new $1.9 billion plant where they are planning to manufacture a 20nm or even a 14nm processors since the demand for smartphones and tablets is dramatically increasing. And they hope to complete the project by the end of 2012. And yes you’re right, these 20nm and 14nm chips’s are geared towards high efficiency such as lower power consumption and better performance. So, we are almost there. In no time, about 2 years from now, we will see 20nm or better yet 14nm chips for our notebooks and laptop.
