2012 Mobile Devices having Quad Cores

Currently, most of the new smart phones on the market have dual-core processors on them. Since it is a dual-core the time it takes to process a certain task on a smartphone doesn't take a long time, but since technology just gets better and better; there is a need to have an upgrade. Having a quad-core processor on a smart phone would be an advantage especially for consumers who need to do multiple tasks on their smartphones at the same time. A smart phone with this processor is expected to be five time faster than a smart phone with a dual-core processor. 

Here are some of the companies and their products who had already released smartphones with quad-core processors on them.

• HTC One X Smartphone

• LG Optimus 4X HD

• Huawei Sunday (Ascend D Quad and the Ascend D Quad XL)

• ZTE Era

Here are several of the Smartphone models running on Quad-Core processors. The Gionee Elife E3 is running on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Cortex A7 processor and PowerVT SGX GPU. It has a multitouch color IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution. It supports HTML for internet access and Java.

The WickedLeak Wammy Passion Z runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean powered by 1.5 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor and PowerVR SGX544MP GPU. It measures 141 x 68.7 x 8.9 millimeters and weighs about 150 grams. It has a standby time of up to 48 hours on 2G and talk time is up to 10 hours on 2G.

It has a full HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. It features multitouch and has Scratch resistant Dragon Trail Glass screen protection.

The Celkon A119Q Signature HD runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean powered by Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and MTK 6589 chipset. It was unveiled and also released just this year, April 2013. It measures 148 x 74.5 x 9.3 millimeters and weighs 177 grams or 6.24 ounces. It has a capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors and 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution.

It has a standby time of up to 140 hours and talk time of up to 6 hours. The primary camera supports 12 megapixels with 4000 x 3000 pixels resolution, autofocus, LED flash, and supports video recording. The secondary camera supports 3 megapixels.
